How to Get There
In town visiting a Wash U student and stayed at the Moonrise. This is such a cool little space-themed hotel. You can see that the owner is passionate about creating an experience with well-placed space memorabilia and decor. Nice sized room with large bathroom. Comfy bed. Aveda products in the bathroom. Lots of nice little touches in the room. The room needs two little repairs -- toilet paper holder and the thermostat -- both not properly attached to the wall. I like more attention to detail on easy fixes in guest rooms. Also the front desk employee at checkout was not at all friendly. I'm not sure she even thanked me for staying there. That said, I've already booked my next stay for Wash U Graduation 2020! I also really commend them for making reservations available this far in advance. Once I stayed here I knew I'd wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.
We were meeting my cousin in St. Louis and she suggested this hotel. Very happy she did. It is a funky, fun place to stay. Our room was fun as the lobby and restaurants are. The theme is space, from the universe to our space program. Memorabilia is all over and the artwork in the rooms, same theme. Fun. The stopper in the sink was also unusual. If you are a dog person, in the lobby they had moon and stars cookies! Plus, the restaurant where we had brunch was delicious. The Rise N Shine package, I believe is parking and food credit-good deal. Can’t wait to go back. BTW, locations is close to the park and museums. And, the toilet paper cover is hysterical!
We were looking for a hotel near the COCA performing arts center for a busy weekend of auditions. The Moonrise Hotel caught my eye on Trip Advisor, and it turned out to be ideal for what we were looking for. Its location was not only convenient to COCA, but also in the middle of a lively stretch of restaurants and shops known as the Delmar Strip, and in close proximity to Wash U. and some lovely elegant homes. Parking was easy, thanks to having both a free lot behind the hotel and an adjacent pay valet area; due to the winter weather and the abundant entertainment venues, we found it to be worthwhile to purchase their Rise & Shine valet/dining package for an extra $30 and not have to worry about finding a parking space. The staff was warm and welcoming across the board, the onsite restaurant was a delicious spot for breakfast, and the room was very clean, comfortable, and spacious for the two of us. The hotel's supercool space memorabilia, quirky-sleek decor, and Aveda amenities were added bonuses! While we didn't utilize it, there is also a street trolley that takes people to Forest Park, home to walking trails, gardens, the art museum, a fabulous free zoo, and more. The hotel (as well as the area itself) is pet-friendly and family-friendly, yet also stylish enough for adults; the seasonal adult-only rooftop bar is a nice touch. Definitely worth a look if you're heading to St. Louis!
It is definitely a different vibe in this hotel but it is super cool! It is right next door to The Pageant and for the price, totally worth it! Every employee we encountered was very friendly! Also, the location is right next to many different restaurants!
Just drove cross country with our dog and the Moonrise Hotel was by far the best place we stayed. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming to our dog (great amenity kit). The staff (including Adam) was also very helpful with food recommendations. We couldn't have been happier and would recommend to anyone.
