How to Get There
Very nice hotel. We were there for Washington University graduation and they had shuttle service. Staff is very nice. Rooms are nice.....we had the Betty Grable Suite (funky). Room service prompt, coffee in the lobby, they are a very good choice if you have a kid at Wash U.
Hey, it’s not the Four Seasons nor the Ritz, but the vibe in this old hotel is great and the location can’t be beat. Price is significantly cheaper... I like the water pressure in the shower and the functional room taking care of the business traveler.
If in the downtown area, near the university, etc. this is the top dog.
I’m loving it.
Recently stayed here and was thoroughly impressed by their staff, their services, their rooms and their meeting spaces. Their front desk staff are cordial and helpful. We had an set of afternoon meetings in their meeting space and the staff working that event were friendly, helpful and superbly professional. The roofdeck is really cool. The rooms are quirky and fun with very modern, hi-tech features. My room even featured a "noise machine" which helped me sleep very well. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Most importantly, while I did not travel with a pet, this hotel is DOG-FRIENDLY which I found very cool.
For those of us who wake up in a chain hotel, be it a Four Seasons or Four Point Sheraton, and cannot tell from the room if you are in Boston or Bangaolore, I present the lovable and quirky Moonrise. Located in the Delmar Loop, Moonrise is decorated with memorabilia from flight and space. In keeping with the peace and quirky theme, the suites are named for movie 'stars' from St. Louis.
The rooms are comfortable, the beds superb.
I stayed her because, honestly, the Ritz I usually stay at was fully booked, but I'll be back at the Moonrise next time I'm in S. Louis.
My son and I stayed here on a visit to Wash U. Unfortunately, my son came down with food poisoning ( from a meal in Nashville) and was violently ill the whole night and too exhausted to go to his campus visit and email. The staff was wonderful and flexible - the restaurant staff got me some plain toast for him and wouldn’t take payment - and the manager allowed him to stay in the room until 4:30 ( well past noon checkout date) so that he could sleep and rest and I could attend the university info session and tour for him. They very reasonably could have charged me for the extra time, but did not.
The hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff was wonderful.
