How to Get There
This hotel is in downtown STL, walking distance to many nighttime hot spots. With only 51 rooms total it’s pleasantly quiet but has all amenities including a gym, business center, room service, & 2 restaurants.
On the 5th floor, the room looks clean, but smelled aweful. The first thing I noticed was the strong odor of mold and mildew. The floor reeks of puke which you can start smelling when laying in bed. The staff was great, but I had a long night trying to sleep past the smell.
Other than that, what made up for the stay was the hospitality, they allowed us to have a late check out. That in itself made it worth the stay.
Facilities are new and clean, even if a bit modest. Some amenities like tea/coffee and bath robe are missing.
But the lack of light is a bigger problem: the lighting system is very finicky and there is no way to make bright light in the room, which was a problem for me as I needed to make a business Skype call.
When I had a problem with the WiFi connection and asked the reception for help, they did not connect me to another network (which they could) but started calling to solve the technical issue - shows that they prefer to go by the book, rather than by what the customer needs.
I had a great second experience at hotel Ignacio. The staff is always readily available to assist you, I had the opportunity to be helped by Manager Stacy always helpful and willing to ensure as a guest you have the best experience, and other staff such as Steve, Molly, Ashley, Deandre and Tina. Great group of staff. I was fell ill towards the end of my stay and Tina brought me extra blankets when I called in the middle of the night. The only thing I wish the hotel will invest in is a microwave it would be convenient for guests when you have left over food especially since I was visiting during the thanksgiving holiday. I enjoyed food from Triumph grill restaurant located in the hotel, Bartender Chris is always pleasant to interact with if I needed a wine glass, order food, and or extra sauce etc... he ensured I was well taken cared of. The staff at the hotel makes you feel like you are family while you are a guest. The hotel is conveniently located to get to the best restaurants in STL. Thank you again for your hospitality.
I am in St. Louis for a work trip and Hotel Ignacio was exceptional. Great service, quiet and comfy room, and yummy food. I will stay here anytime I come to town! Thanks to the front desk for accommodating requests quickly and with grace.
