How to Get There
We check the Ignacio Hotel out on line, and it was close to the Chavez arena (for walking to the game) Was very surprise to learn about the building and it was an original Cleaners before refurbished into the Ignacio Hotel~~ The rooms were very comfortable, pristine and we could tour the old motorcycles on the lower floor(no charge) and we decided to eat at the Hotel Restruant ~ Great bartenders and gave us information about the area. Apparently this area have been given large sums of grants to bring back the quaintness of old St Louis. Amazing change from yrs ago.~ Plan to return to this area again for the games and for the location.
We chose this boutique for a birthday staycation. We both live and work in the city and loved the idea of trying this hotel out for a weekend stay. The location is about as good as you can get. Close to everything: museums, parks, dining, entertainment. It has it all within a short walk or easy drive. Will DEFINITLEY be staying here again in the future!!
If you love boutique hotels in hip urban locations, Hotel Ignacio is for you. Or, if you are a follower of the 21(c) Museum hotels, again, Hotel Ignacio is for you. Located in Midtown, within walking distance of St. Louis University, Powell Hall, and the Fabulous Fox Theater, Hotel Ignacio is perfect for weekend getaways or for the outside-the-mainstream business traveler. Room decor is simple and loft-like. Loved the exposed brick and original art.
My room on the fifth floor looked onto Grand Avenue. Great view, especially at night in the February fog. In addition to the destinations mentioned above, an international photography museum is in the same block as the hotel along with a motorcycle museum. The European motorcycle shop next door is a great place to pick up a Ducati motorcycle jacket or buy that Vespa you've been dreaming of.
Holy Toledo, I almost forgot to mention Jazz St. Louis is just a few blocks away. Feeling stodgy? Head down there for a cocktail and feel instantly cool.
House papers include both NYT and WSJ.
I stayed at Hotel Ignacio for business purposes, and I can't say enough good things about the staff and service. Steven went out of his way to accommodate me for a second night after a last-minute flight cancelation. Nicole offered me coffee and a place to hang out after I learned my rebooked flight was delayed seven hours (and I had already checked out). The rooms were very comfortable. The food from both on-site restaurants was very good. I would absolutely recommend.
We stayed in a wonderful room with two queen beds on the 5th floor. We stayed for one night for a college visit. This hotel was wonderful!!! The staff were very friendly and helpful, making wonderful restaurant suggestions. The hotel is situated near the college so it was very convenient. It was close to the Hill where we found a restaurant that was suggested to us by staff. I loved the artwork that was hanging around the hotel. The room was beautiful and perfectly clean and comfortable. I loved everything about this experience and would LOVE to go back!!! Our parking was included in the price we paid and it was very convenient. It had a nice workout room, but unfortunately, we didn't have time to use it! I highly recommend this hotel!
