How to Get There
Beautiful hotel!! Walking distance to the plaza. Has great food and cold drinks. The rooms are super clean. Comfortable beds. Soft fluffy linens. Courtesy is obviously a strict policy.
I highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to the plaza
We were really looking forward to our stay with The Fontaine. It looked amazing online, in this case, pictures didn't tell the whole story. The entire room was filthy, the sink and shower leaked and the beds were not only dangerous but they are full size mattresses on a queen size wood "frame". When the beds are made they look queen size, thus a hazard. I have a giant bruise on my shin from running into the corner of the "frame", I reported this to the front desk and they literally said nothing to me in response. There's an ice machine but no ice buckets. Mattresses and bedding were just okay, on par with a Holiday Inn. When valet could be found they were very slow, but of course had their hand out. This property is located 2 blocks from an area filled with roaming drug addicts and vagrant. We were harassed multiple times and had the displeasure of witnessing a man urinating on the sidewalk. I could go on but I think you can get a feel for what this experience was like for us. I've attached photos from our room.
I was booked here for business. Not only did we stay here but had all of company seminars and gatherings. Jay, At the front desk was fantastic with great customer service.
We had a great party upstairs on the rooftop. The food was excellent!
Our room was well appointed!
Wish it was better but not worth $285 per night. Stayed at the Fontaine on Sept 29/30 for a KC weekend. It was OK but many issues that you shouldn't come across with this class of Hotel. got in Friday afternoon went to 7th floor bar and they were understaffed and could not provide service at all. Bartenders were inexperienced and sub par. From a room stand point the maids came in and took all the dirt towels and left no towels as well as soaps. Staff at desk area weren't really that nice and couldn't care if the lobby was out of coffee or not. We will most likely not stay there again.
This hotel is a refurbished boutique-style hotel. For the most part the location is as advertised. However, the lighting in the rooms is not that great, especially in the entryways (even with the entryway light on) inside the room and in the bathrooms. You need to open the blinds and/or turn on every single light in the room if you prefer a bright atmosphere as depicted in the pictures. Also, the hotel states they have a "shuttle" that will take you anywhere within a 5 mile radius, but thats not completely accurate. What they have is a contract with the yellow cab company and they give you a voucher to use. What they dont advertise is that it takes at least 30 minutes for the cab to arrive and they will only call a cab for you if you are downstairs in the lobby. So you cant wait in your room or go have breakfast while you wait. I ended up calling an Uber so I could get to my destination on time. One morning 2 ladies were waiting on the cab and we ended up sharing my uber to our respective destinations because they had been waiting for a while already.
