Ameristar by Boyd Gaming Has Gotten Worse Casino, Not Hotel Review

I have been occasionally visiting this Casino back when it was Station Casino and a Fun place to go.when owners weren't so greedy. I've seen it change to Ameristar and still it was ok. Comps were reasonable, machines were hit and mis but they tried to provide a good experience. Every year that passed I saw the Machines get tighter, the Buffet price go up,, the comps are less and the casino seem to get more greedy and provide less as far as entertainment and perks. NOT much different than any other Casio at this point. The use to be Author Bryants BBQ as one of the few outside dining options which was my favorate place to visit when at the Casino. You could walk in the Door that the BBQ smell drew you to their spot. What ever the reason, over time Ameristar drove Author Bryants out and made the spot into a gift center for Upper tier players. After Boyd takes over it will become a fancy Members only club for High tier players. As years went by Boyd purchased the Casino and it's gone down hill since. Food prices increased, very few options for food that isn't Ameristar, Machines are so tight that to see a bonus that pays more than you have put in is almost impossible. My guess and just a guess is that payout is under 80% compared to 98% back in the 90;s. Comps for first two level player don't exist anymore. Buffet closed on Monday and Tuesday for Lunch. Dinner prices increased.
In Summary, if you want to feel important, Throw your money away on Overprice meals, A casino that is nothing more than a place to Donate and receive nothing in return, not even comps for more play or food. Basically when you walk in that dook leave your ATM and Credit cards in the car. They will Bleed you dry and give nothing in return. I've always hated Harrah's and felt they provide no Comps but they are Now Better than Ameristar by Boyd Gaming. In my Opinion.

Anniversary

My husband and I decided to got to Kansas City for our 2 year anniversary. We chose to stay at the Ameristar and we had a great experience. All of the staff were so nice and helpful. Our room was clean and quiet. The only downside was there was construction going on and made it hard to park in the parking garage so we had to park in the casino parking lot. Over all had a good experience.

Nice place but price gouges

First, and last, time to visit. Wanted a special weekend for hubby's birthday, so got tickets for Ron White. Signage is terrible for someone new to the property.Long complicated process to check in even though had a reservation. Room was clean and nice. Could not connect to Wifi. If it was worth $79 one night, it certainly didn't suddenly become worth over $300 for a different night. They gouge prices to take advantage and at the inflated price, room certainly was NOT worth it.
