How to Get There
Stayed at the Hotel on Friday and Saturday night. The staff was friendly and the Historic Hotel had a lot of charm. The hotel is within walking distance from the city center that has shops and other eateries. Ate at the breakfast buffet both days. Service was great and the food / fruit was also fresh and great.
We booked the Truman Presidential Suite for my birthday weekend since it was a special celebration. So disappointed and a bit embarrassed as I booked this hotel. The room was large and clean but so depressing. Sad and very tired furniture and the carpet was extremely stained. Tables were scratched and very cheap looking. The bathroom seemed to have been recently remodeled as it was nice. Really not what I expected from a presidential suite though. They told us the hot tub outside was open and it was but it was full of leaves and many tiles were missing. We ordered breakfast from room service and it was completely wrong. I’m a vegetarian and they gave me a sausage omelette which I definitely didn’t order. Items were missing and others just incorrect. When I went and complained they did adjust my bill. We ate dinner at the restaurant and it was delicious. I read they recently had a multi million dollar renovation and it must’ve been mostly the spa, certainly not the rooms. The spa was very nice.
Beautiful historic building with lots of character.. Great breakfast buffet, reasonable prices. I understand they are about to undergo some updates. We will be back again. Beautiful setting in a quaint town.
