How to Get There
My husband and I had our nephews for the weekend and wanted to stay the night in a hotel with a pool. The Sheraton Westport was perfect! Super clean, near all the activities we had planned, and had an indoor pool. My nephews LOVED it! We scored huge points with them!
Nice conference facility although the rooms were blind (no natural light). The Hotel accommodations were typical of a Business hotel. The room was clean, the bed was good, the noise was low, WiFi was strong and stable. Food setup for the meeting and selection were good and varied from day to day. Visual aids worked flawlessly.
We arrived around 9:30pm, with the front desk staff speaking to each other about another co-worker somewhat unprofessionally. When they noticed my expression, one apologized saying "its been a long night." I dismissed it and went to our room. Dismissive continued to be the theme of our evening. From 11pm - 2:00am we got to enjoy the couple in the room next to us SCREAMING AT EACH OTHER. Screaming profanity, calling each other names, etc. I called the front desk, who sent Security. This happened FIVE times before the couple finally quit fighting (then we got to enjoy the sounds of her loudly vomiting for about 30 minutes). I asked if we could move rooms at 11pm, and when another room was finally offered to us at 1am, we declined it because my son was finally asleep. The next morning, I went and spoke to the Supervisor on duty, and I asked if she'd been briefed on the Security reports from the night before. She said she was, and that she was sorry but there is nothing they can do unless they have enough to call the police and have the police remove the loud guests from the hotel. She then offered me FREE BREAKFAST. Breakfast, in exchange for a horrible night's sleep & the annoyance of having to call the front desk 5 times? Really?!? I would NEVER EVER stay at this hotel again. The lobby/bar area is really nice but that is where it stops. The rooms are outdated and the walls are paper thin. Even if you don't get drunken idiots next to you like we did, you'll hear your neighbor's tv. There's also an outdoor plaza area right by the hotel with a nightclub that blares music until 1am. Just stay somewhere else.
