How to Get There
Once again horrible customer service. When I arrived at check in went directly to Platinum check in line after watching the front desk person help person after person I finally asked her what is the purpose of the Platinum/Noir VIP check in line is ??? She rudely stated “I didn’t know you were in line and the line starts behind you”. Well there was no one in Platinum/Noir VIP line other than me and she continued to help others check in. At this point another female desk person came out from behind and started to help me. I asked her for the person’s name next to her so I could file a complaint on four separate occasions and she refused to give me her name and said I had to get it from her didn’t want anything to do with it. Really???? That’s how MGM deals with complaints and poor service??? The name tag for the second desk person merely said “Beautiful” as a name tag so not professional. After she told me I was all set I asked her if each room was set up with “Concierge” access line was noted on reservation and she said “No, I need your key back”. When I finally got up to my room I called Players services to voice my complaint and spoke to a female who merely stated “ she was sorry and could sing Happy Birthday to me to make me feel better”. I told her was in no mood for the jokes and asked for a supervisor and was told that person would be calling me back in 10 minutes. I waited 30 minutes for no call to be ever made to me. It makes me wonder why myself and guests gamble at your establishment till 530am when we are treated so rudely. Again if this was any property in Vegas would never be tolerated.
The hotel is fine. However everything is super expensive for sub-par results. Low end beers are $5. Like eating a fresh salad or fruit or anything real that is grown? Good luck finding that. The staff at the food court is surly and fresh... but the food isn’t. Look I live in a big East Coast city and am used to “ballpark” prices. But you gotta live up to the service and exceptional end. This didn’t for me. Oh yeah... and the entire first floor of the hotel REEKS of smoke. It’s disgusting. I tried to gamble but gave up. Within minutes my clothes and hair reeked of 2nd hand smoke. I’m probably more sensitive to this after decades, but it reminded me of grandma’s house — Old, smoky, kinda run down.
Best hotel /casino in Detroit. Always clean and friendly staff. The pool and fitness center are clean and quiet. Walking distance to Ford Field, Comerica park and Little Cersars Arena. I would highly recommend this hotel
This is the 3rd time staying at the MGM and it is always such a pleasure. Great for a special event or just a get away. Rooms are exceptional with very comfortable beds and a huge shower with dual shower heads. Hotel is also very quiet and very secure. You must show your room key to get into the hotel from the casino.
Being a hotel Engineering Supervisor I must say everything was great from valet, front desk, housekeeping etc. The only thing I personally would like to see is a fridge in the room. Instead of the mini bar.
