A convenient base in downtown Miami's buzzed-about Brickell, with incredible bay and city views
Think the Magic City action always happens in South Beach? Think again. Historically the local financial district, Brickell is giving SoBe, if you’ll pardon the expression, a run for its money. In its article "Miami’s New Food Scene," Travel + Leisure described the former as a burgeoning "restaurant epicenter," and Curbed recently published the results of a real-estate study finding that main-drag Brickell Avenue is Miami’s hottest street. The late-2015 opening of Blume, styled as Brickell’s "first true nightclub experience," was followed by everyone from the Miami New Times to Haute Living.
In a city where the It eatery, bar, lounge and fashion boutique changes as fast, and unpredictably, as the songs on the latest dance remix, a new It neighborhood has arrived, and you’re going to want to check it out. Base yourself Atton Brickell Miami, which is walking distance from Bayside Marketplace, Mary Brickell Village and AmericanAirlines Arena, three of the most popular local venues. (The third has hosted everyone from Madonna to J. Lo, plus multiple NBA finals.) As for the all-new stay itself, find modern rooms with massive TVs, plus a Peruvian restaurant with a 22-ft. wine wall and cabana-lined rooftop infinity pool with a full bar and views of the city and the bay. An It hotel in the making, perhaps?
If you make it back to the hotel after dark – we wouldn’t blame you for staying out all night at sought-after BLUME nightclub, just around the corner – you’ll find a room that has everything you could possibly need. Rest up on a plush bed (you'll have either one king or two queens), channel surf on your 50-in. cable/satellite LCD TV, check your email at the convenient workstation, stock your fridge and scope the views of the bay or the city.
Signature restaurant Lima offers three meals a day of South American menus, including Peruvian eats and Chilean wines from a 22-ft.-tall wine wall. Be sure to try the ceviche, which is one of Miami’s most iconic foods, as well as a specialty here. For a quick drink or tapa, the lobby bar is a sleek and stylish destination, and there’s also a full-service bar on the rooftop, beside the infinity pool.
It’s no longer a secret that Brickell is the new South Beach, and as an Atton guest, you’ll be blocks from many of the venues that have made this neighborhood so happening in recent years. Among them are the AmericanAirlines Arena, which has hosted everyone from J. Lo to Katy Perry to the teams of multiple NBA finals in the 2010s. Even closer (a walk to the arena’s short drive) is Mary Brickell Village, a shopping hub that houses jewelers, fashion boutiques, a gelateria and a Rosa Mexicano outpost. Best of all, you’re just around the corner from Blume, the "first true nightclub experience" in Brickell, whose opening was followed by everyone from the Miami New Times to Haute Living.
