Fresh off a $10 million makeover, the Washington Park Hotel finally opened to the public this fall. Its 182 guest rooms span four 1930s Art Deco buildings and have a fun, throwback style that nods to SoBe’s historic district. Expect streamlined décor with wood and leather furniture, soft gray walls, and spacious bathrooms stocked with Beekman 1802 amenities. There’s also an acre of gardens, a pool area, a fitness center, and an eagerly-awaited outpost of New York City’s prohibition-style restaurant and bar, Employees Only, which is housed in the hotel’s Coral House bungalow.
In the Area
Borrow one of the hotel’s free bikes and explore the famed Art Deco district. Then, pedal down Ocean Drive, but skip all the touristy eateries for more high-end options like Prime 112 and LT Steak & Seafood. Or, avoid the crowds and cruise along Collins and Washington avenues to have dinner at The Bazaar by José Andrés in the SLS Hotel before dancing until dawn at Rockwell nightclub. And in the morning, you can nurse that hangover with some down-home fare at local-favorite Yardbird Southern Table & Bar.
How to Get There
Nothing fancy, but super comfortable. Beds and pillows great. Daily maid service. 3 blocks to beach. Staff was wonderful. I recommend staying here and plan to return! Daily breakfast items, coffee in lobby. Inexpensive compared to many. Walking distance to restaurants, bars and cvs.
Myself and my friends stayed at the Washington Park Hotel in Miami. While at the pool, we were approached to join a complimentary salsa class. The class and instructor were amazing! She was super supportive and guided us through the steps. I would definitely and highly recommend it to anyone.
outrageous daily valet parking. Rooms are clean and functional-nothing fancy-very plain with limited amenities. Very small and noisy pool-a lot of kids-property is well taken care of but lacks amenities. Great location for walk to South Beach and restuarants.
