Overview

A relaxed stay at a brand-new boutique hotel, with a private hotel service at the blocks-away beach

The Lowdown

Brand-new Urbanica The Meridian Hotel has one of the tip-top rankings among TripAdvisor Miami Beach hotels, along with a Certificate of Excellence, for its distinctive, welcoming brand of hospitality and attentive service. Clean, minimalist décor emphasizes whites and neutrals, to help you relax, while inviting common spaces include a cabana area and a glimmering pool with a deck flanked by loungers. Coffee and juices are available at the Food Marchand (plus to-go treats at the vending machines), while bikes await to take you around town.
Speaking of town, its highlights are right in your backyard from this urban oasis on the southern edge of South Beach. You’re near the heart of the action, in a chic area (South of Fifth, or “SoFi”) that’s become a destination in its own right – if one that’s still decidedly more laid-back than its neighbor. When not at home, you can be off dining on steak at Prime 112, splashing cash at the shops of the Lincoln Road Mall or dancing at the buzziest clubs in minutes. And if you’re headed to the beach, which is just a handful of blocks east, you’ll get private hotel service, so you can arrive like a VIP.

Location

The American Riviera. An Art Deco playground. Miami’s South Beach has been called many things, but one thing’s for sure – there’s no other place like it – and this hotel’s location puts you within easy reach of some of the best shopping, nightlife, architecture, beaches, restaurants and history. If the people watching doesn’t take up your day, there’s plenty more to do. Pick one of the Prime restaurants in surrounding SoFi (South of Fifth), stroll Lincoln Road’s iconic walk, vacation in Spanish style on Española Way, soak up the sun on the white-sand coast, dine at a sidewalk café, or hit a bar in Miami’s legendary club scene. However you spend your stay, we promise you won’t want to leave.

I recently stayed here for Art Basel. The hotel is located out of the mayhem but perfect walking distance from the beach and everything you need in South Beach.
It's charming and so super friendly. We were grateful to to be there and will surely return!

A wonderful hotel with competent and friendly staff. Modern design, top location, and a great breakfast latte, too. The lounge by the pool is a nice break from the beach, if you want to hang out and enjoy a drink. Recommended!

This is an elegantly casual hotel with a generous dose of warmth from Sexton, James, and Freddy. It is in a great location—a short walk from the water, restaurants, and the beachfront exhibits at Art Basel. The size is quaint, the coffee and breakfast in the communal lobby are delicious, and the rooms are clean. The only thing that I would have changed are adding blackout shades in the room and a firmer bed. Otherwise, this felt like a second home in Miami. Thanks for a most lovely stay!!

Miami Beach is always a difficult place finding a laid back boutique bohemian style hotel - but now, there is one! Sexton Garcia is a great host with a very nice team - you feel to be here with friends and not treated as someone who brings the money - super comfy beds, nice rooms, simple, but you would not need more - and 5min to go to the beach - by the way great coffee, very nice patio, nice little bar for late nite gin tonics - and good music! for me more silver lake Los Angeles mood, than Miami Beach :-) will came back for sure!!

Do yourself a favour and stay at the Urbanica.

I would return in an instant.

They genuinely look after you. EVERYONE was incredible. Seriously. So welcoming, so friendly, always available and helpful. And just down to earth. A bit of calm coolness to come home to after a fully charged Miami day.

The rooms are currently, crisp & comfortable. Nothing lacking, and so tastefully neutral.

The location was perfect. Easy to connect to all of the various hubs, and just a quick walk to Ocean Drive. In a neighborhood that I didn't mind walking through after dinner. And there are some great places to eat around there too!

The coffee. I probably drank too much of the forever flowing delicious coffee. It was just too good!

And if you don't want to be isolated in your room there are so many spots to enjoy: the lounge, the bar, the atrium, the pool deck and chillout room...

Overall, it's just a great place to stay. It has the hipest, most genuine and accessible vibe. It just works.

Thank you to everyone at Urbanica!
