Brand-new Urbanica The Meridian Hotel has one of the tip-top rankings among TripAdvisor Miami Beach hotels, along with a Certificate of Excellence, for its distinctive, welcoming brand of hospitality and attentive service. Clean, minimalist décor emphasizes whites and neutrals, to help you relax, while inviting common spaces include a cabana area and a glimmering pool with a deck flanked by loungers. Coffee and juices are available at the Food Marchand (plus to-go treats at the vending machines), while bikes await to take you around town.
Speaking of town, its highlights are right in your backyard from this urban oasis on the southern edge of South Beach. You’re near the heart of the action, in a chic area (South of Fifth, or “SoFi”) that’s become a destination in its own right – if one that’s still decidedly more laid-back than its neighbor. When not at home, you can be off dining on steak at Prime 112, splashing cash at the shops of the Lincoln Road Mall or dancing at the buzziest clubs in minutes. And if you’re headed to the beach, which is just a handful of blocks east, you’ll get private hotel service, so you can arrive like a VIP.

The American Riviera. An Art Deco playground. Miami’s South Beach has been called many things, but one thing’s for sure – there’s no other place like it – and this hotel’s location puts you within easy reach of some of the best shopping, nightlife, architecture, beaches, restaurants and history. If the people watching doesn’t take up your day, there’s plenty more to do. Pick one of the Prime restaurants in surrounding SoFi (South of Fifth), stroll Lincoln Road’s iconic walk, vacation in Spanish style on Española Way, soak up the sun on the white-sand coast, dine at a sidewalk café, or hit a bar in Miami’s legendary club scene. However you spend your stay, we promise you won’t want to leave.
How to Get There
We booked the Urbanica after reading the great reviews on TA and yet again, TA contributors were right. Set a few blocks back from the beach, there is a lovely tranquil feeling from the moment you pull up outside. The room was cool, clean and big enough for the 2 of us and 3 bags. We were only there for one night but could have stayed longer. The staff were great and I would recommend everyone to get the low down on the rip-off bars and cafe's on Ocean drive before making your way down there.
We didn't have time to use the pool but did enjoy a beer in the cafe and took the bikes along the beach for an hour or so.
We did eat at the La Ventana Colombian restaurant and breaky at the Italian bakery across the street, both were excellent.
The owners are building new hotels nearby and I hope they create another couple of excellent hotels to visit in the future.
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely experience here at The Hotel Urbanica. Warm, welcoming and genuinely concerned about our happiness and comfort, the staff truly went above and beyond. We felt as though we were visiting classy friends that strive to please and yet make it look effortless. The hotel is situated nicely on 5th St and Meridian ave (a very beautiful tree-lined road great for walking), making it near the action of South Beach and yet far enough from the noise. South of 5th is a special area with a cool vibe. I recommend walking to Planta, a fantastic restaurant that serves exceptional vegan food. The hotel itself features the clean lines of minimalist design. Speaking of clean, the rooms are spotless. My only suggestion is that the staff become more knowledgeable regarding vegan food options. Still, vegan travellers can easily find world class food in Miami.
Great boutique hotel just a few blocks back from the beach. Great Service. Great room. Small plunge pool area. Free bike to use to get around. Great idea as this is the best way to see the area. Expensive valet parking
Loved the hotel and especially the very helpful, friendly staff!!. Sexton the GM was amazing, around whenever we were there ready to help with anything.
Beds are super comfortable, food was good, the bar had great bartenders and drinks!
I would definitely book again when going to South Beach!!
The Urbanica is one of the best hotels I've stayed in. It's clean, very comfortable, great staff, very close to the beach (around 5 minutes walk) and it's in an overall great location. The food in the restaurant is expensive but it was super good at the same time. Unfortunately we could only stay 2 nights here, but if I ever return to SB Miami, The Urbancia would be my first pick!
