How to Get There
This hotel was complet disaster. When I came firs dsy they told me it's a mandatory resort fee 29 $ a day and it was not mentioned anywhere when I made a booking. They offer breakfast but they don't tell you that is not part of a hotel and it's very limited (all you can have and it's included in price is toast, cereal and only one cup of regular coffee) all the rest you have to pay extra. One morning I ordered yogurt and I even realised it's expired. Not to mention the rooms very dirty and no space for clothes not even one single drawer or closet. I've been there for 10 days and they never changed the linen or wash the floor, they even forget to bring fresh towels so I had to go back down to reception to get them.
Staff between each other communicate only in Spanish and although I do speak Spanish I think it's really disrespectful to other guests. That's how I also realised they are prioritising Spanish speaking guests.
So overall was a very bad experience and I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
Booked this hotel on line for 3 nights - stayed for 9. Quirky, simple, well located, spotlessly clean and inexpensive but the most amazing staff....greeted warmly by Freddy (reception) after a long day flying from the France via the UK. Check in was made super easy. Next morning off to the beach with system for towels etc. explained expertly by Anton (also reception). Hotel does not have a pool but the beach is at the end of the (short, dead end) road so easy to access. Next few days spent doing 'touristy' things - helped by Freddy and Anton - and sorting out the amazing free transport that's available. Basically there is a 'trolly' system (actually a bus decked out to look like a trolly) which has 4 routes. All free. A clockwise one, an anti clockwise one, one that does a mixture of both and one that just does Collins Avenue. The stop for these is about 80m from the hotel (on Collins). You can get to within walking distance of almost anywhere on South Beach on this system for nothing. Fabbo!!! In short this is an excellent hotel for the price and I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Wonderful value for money. So what are the downsides? No pool - get over it. The South Seas Hotel almost next door will do you a deal for a lounger for the day. No restaurant? Orange Blossom over the road is really good. Convenience store is 5 mins away as is a Wallgreens. Great place, great location and great people.
The Staff at front desk was absolutely helpful they gave us all the informations needed how to move around city and places to visit, always ready to help.
Location is absolutely great less than 2min walk from the beach and main avenue.
Spending some time on the large rooftop is also worthy with good views and relaxing vibes.
Downside we were given a voucher at check-in including 2free "drink" on rooftop bar.No one specified "drinks" meant only beer or wine, cocktails were excluded!! Once the drink were already served ended up paying for a Jin tonic... way too expensive 14$!!! Though most cocktails in miami were expensive, this wasn't even worthed quicly made & served in disposable platic cup.
