It’s hard to miss the sex appeal of The Standard Spa, an oasis on a small South Florida island a 15-minute drive from the bustle of Ocean Drive. The hotel brings some retro Palm Springs style to Miami, with Midcentury Modern teak consoles and side tables, tufted midnight blue lounges and such natural touches as terrariums, potted trees and a driftwood console table.
Bed & Bath
The room decor at the Miami property is simple and more subtle than at the other Pop Art–inspired Standard hotels, with a serene sand and white palette accented with denim blue. Clean-lined, modern pieces mix with vintage campaign-style chairs and daybeds inspired by camp cots. Funky marble bathrooms have open showers with vintage chrome fixtures and custom organic products.
The Standard has vamped up the time-honored spa, combining up-to-the-second techniques with ancient massage traditions, from a Turkish hammam “Rub and Scrub” to a dip in the sound pool. Locals gather for Friday’s yoga events, combining classes with DJs and live musicians. Refuel on the sun-kissed, organic Mediterranean fare and biodynamic wines at the Lido Restaurant & Bayside Grill, and retox over drinks and ping-pong or film screenings at the hotel bar. There’s also an infinity pool and a shop with slick resortwear by Tucker, Lemlem, Haute Hippie and Mosely Tribes.
In the Area
The property is within striking distance of the South Beach action but removed from the late night fray. You’re entitled to indulge in some caloric bad behavior with chef Scott Conant’s fresh pastas at Scarpetta or bourbon and fried chicken at Yardbird Southern Table & Bar. SoBe’s Frank Gehry–designed New World Center makes high culture hip with a theater that transforms into a nightclub-style venue mixing electronica and classical music.
How to Get There
Let me start off first with saying this place is amazing and the people that work there make it so special. I had the most amazing day all thanks to Sebastien the host at the hotel. It’s such a great place to let go of your stress and truly relax. Thank you for being incredible l!
Recently I visited the Standard Hotel Spa in Miami Beach. I was visiting from San Francisco and had just come off a long and stressful flight which had compromised my health. I walked into the Spa feeling feverish, achy and all around terrible. After using the steam room, the Hammam and Baths I walked out of there feeling like Beyonce!! One staff member in particular named Chris Lizarraga was EVERYTHING you could ask for. He was informative, warm, he gave me a tour of all the amenities and recommended a coconut bath in correlation with the steam room which helped me to relax and feel 100% again. Thank you Chris, and thank you Standard Hotel Spa for being so awesome! I fully recommended this place.
Whenever I set foot on this property I feel instantly at ease. Everything here is geared towards relaxation, luxury, recharging your mind body and Spirit! From gorgeous saline pool with the most incredible view, to the hot hot hot tub, to the ice cold plunge ~ rejuvenation at it's finest. The restaurant is delicious, the views are spectacular and the service is wonderful. The Standard membership coordinator Rebecca is always seen around the property ~ offering a smile, asking if she can be of any assistance, She is really a delight and makes the property feel even more like home and a place I want to return to over and over again. It is not often you get that level of personal attention and customer service in Miami, and she really goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and well cared for. Wether you live in Miami, or are visiting The Standard is a place you want to visit ~ for dinner, or an awesome yoga class, a deeply recharging hamam and spa experience or fun poolside happy hour! Highly recommended!!!
We booked a room block for out of town guests during a recent 2 day birthday event. Our guests loved the relaxed vibe and the friendly service at the property. Chris L. was a pleasure to deal with for the bookings and ensured our guests received their welcome gifts upon check in. We frequently dine at the Lido but it is great to know we also have a comfortable place nearby for our guests.
I come to the standard almost twice a month for brunch/pool time and can't stop. Honestly, nothing bad to say about the place, best interior design, best vibe, best food, best pool, best forzey, and the best Hospitality! I had the chance to meet Rebecca who made me feel at home and made my stay even better than I could expect.
Also, I took part in some very interesting and fun events, luckily I had to chance to meet Kevin who also in charge of this and he also made sure I'm enjoying my time at the standard.
Cant wait to go again !
