How to Get There
Lovely suite but service was awful
We had to ask at the lobby to get a maid to clean room when we came back to hotel at 6 pm
No milk supplied for coffee so had to have black
The pool bar was a rip off ,26 dollars for half a beer and gin and tonic in a small plastic glass ..
Lifts at times didn’t work and had to use steps ..
Would be a nice hotel if bought back to a good service standard
The hotel was being remodeled and the rooms, while big were somewhat out dated. We could have accepted that as the location was perfect, but we had to deal with RODNEY on multiple occasions - from check in to simple requests like borrowing a stapler.
He treated every request with utter contempt and was as rude and unhelpful as possible.
We spoke to several other guests who had the same experience with him.
I happily stay at La Quintas when I travel with my dog, so my standards are not high. But rudeness and condescension when we paid $200 a night for a hotel that looked like a bomb hit it was just too much!
Having read sone of the reviews after booking this hotel we were somewhat apprehensive when we arrived, which increased when we got out of the lift to find a hallway with no carpets.
When we opened the door to the room our worries disappeared! The apartment was huge, with big beds, a modern fridge and ample space for the 4 of us without being u see each other’s feet. We had a fantastic sea view, and the room was immaculately clean. The rooms were cleaned daily, and fresh towels left (even when we didn’t need them)
The larger pool had recently reopened and the smaller pool was now closed for refurbishment. There was plenty of space around the pool to relax and enjoy the sun, you do have to use a staff corridor at the minute to access the pool, but it is safe and well lit. Yes the pool bar was fairly costly, but not in relation to other bars in the Miami Beach area, and cheap compared to south beach prices. If you are looking for a cheap holiday then Miami Beach isn’t for you!
We experienced no disturbance from the renovations going on, the only time we experienced disturbance was when we got a knock on the door from the manager at 8.30am with cable engineers replacing the tv boxes in all the rooms.
All in all, we couldn’t fault anything about the hotel or staff, who were very helpful, and once the renovations are complete, it will be a stunning hotel.
We would definitely return to the hotel in the future
