How to Get There
We had an OK stay. We were unlucky with the room, in a stairwell/fire escape with no wifi. Expensive parking and little reasonable alternatives nearby. Breakfast OK+, but was quickly emptied and not refilled when we stayed.
If you are lucky with the room it might be worth it, but definately not good enough for the price for us.
Spent two nights in red South beach with a pool room. Decor is red and white in the rooms with large old fashion pictures over the bed (The type the eyes follow you around the room :/ ).
Pool rooms are very noisy with the pool traffic. There are two lifts but can take a while for wait. Parking is additional and valet as no car parking at hotel.
1. Location - close to bus tour and Miami free trolley
2. Clean and friendly staff
3. Decor are nice in places
1. Parking - additional cost and time with valet parking only
2. Breakfast buffet limited
3. Pool view room can be noisy as pool gets cleaned early and then lots of people and kids using pool
4. Seems aimed at younger crown so can be noisy at night time
Tip: Download the Miami downtown trolley App to track next free bus down town
I stayed at the Red Hotel in South Beach for one night. The hotel was chic and very clean! The valet staff and the front desk staff were so helpful! But the manager Zenaida (the one who looks 25 ) wins the cake! She was professional, kind, and made the overall stay perfect! Highly recommend this hotel! Only mins from the the South Beach shopping and eating scene, as well as steps away from the beautiful beaches of Miami!
My wife and I had one night in Miami before flying to the Caribbean, so we had to see what "South Beach" was all about.
This hotel is kind of "boutique-y" I must say, which I generally like. The international staff was super super friendly.
You can tell this is an old hotel that has been re-decorated and renamed. The décor is, well, weird. But it wasn't distracting or anything. You have to valet park, this is the only option.
Now, we thought South Beach would be a little more bustling than it was, so we asked the friendly staff, "is this South Beach?"- the answer was, No.. south beach it a short drive or a 20 min walk south. Not bad. We chose to walk but it was longer than it looked on a map. Still.. worth noting. You are not quite in South Beach at this hotel.
The breakfast in the morning was better than expected
The only reason this hotel is getting 3 stars is because of the staff. The rooms a sooo small, and the beds are uncomfortable. I guess if you compare it to other hotels it’s ok, but you can spend a few more bucks and go to a resort down the street. The lobby decor is cute, but that’s where the cuteness begins and end.
The best thing about this place is the staff. Front desk, cleaning people, valet, and the bar...these people rock! Dana was one of the bartenders that we got to know, and she was AMAZING! Oh, and the pool area was actually nice.
I would not stay at this hotel again because it was not what I’m accustomed to. However, I would go back just to visit the staff because they were hands down some of the best people I’ve ever met!
