This hotel is in a great location, it is clean and its staff is very friendly! Zenilda, one of the receptionists, always had a huge smile on her face and greeted everyone very warmly. I will definitely go back there if I am in South Beach again in the future.

Older hotel remodeled to look very modern. We were upgraded to a suite, which was nice, and given a bottle of champagne at check in. The hotel had a weird smell in the lobby and elevator (kind of a burnt chemical smell, very strange) but the room was clean and smelled fine. Jose and Zenaida were both very friendly and helpful during our stay!

All round great hotel!

Our arrival to Red South Beach was in the evening around 9pm on a Wednesday evening. First impressions of the hotel where good as the receptionist was very welcoming and the hotel and bar area looked modern and clean. As expected, we paid a security deposit of $200.00 (refunded on departure) and also the standard room tax again something we where aware of. We where handed the keys to our room which was a King size room, again very clean and big enough for two people.
The room had an on-suite which included both a bath and shower. In the main wardrobe was a safe, we could change the code to suit for our duration. The room was cleaned daily and towels replaced everyday should you leave them on the floor. Only negative that we was unaware of is bottles of water on the side the maid brought up - these are charged to the room and paid at the end of the visit at 3.50$ a bottle!

Given the time of day it was we didn’t have much chance to explore after unpacking, however, we went for a short walk to some shops 5 minutes away down Collins Avenue. First impression of the area was that it was a quite part of town which we later found out to be true. After the trip to the shop we went to the bar area in the hotel and spoke to the barmaid who was very friendly and informative of places to visit. We ordered a pizza from the bar and eat it in the room after a long day travelling and called it a night.

The first morning we went down to breakfast as this was included in our package. We where given breakfast vouchers that had to be handed in each morning on entrance to the bar area. I believe that breakfast can also be purchased daily at 10$ per person. Selection of hot foods, cereals, fruits and different drinks both hot and cold. Only downside to the breakfast was that it didn’t change for our full stay and got a bit boring/plain.

We spent a fair bit of time around the pool area which we found enjoyable with people from all nationalities. The pool was well maintained, food and drinks where also allowed on sun-loungers through the day. A feature we found to be impressive was the towel cards that we where given on the first day. Great idea as you could get a clean beach towel from reception each morning and hand it back when finished.
The food and drinks where fairly reasonable prices (minus the sales tax and service charge that is added onto everything). Food was average, bar snacks and pizzas, wings etc. If your going to eat, venture outwards to the amazing bars and restaurants down South Beach and across to Brickell and Miami Downtown.

Location of the hotel was average and based on 31st street of Collins Avenue. To put it into perspective the lively areas start at about 17th street southwards, if you walk from 31st to 17th you would be looking at about 45 minutes. This was the only downside for us as we spent a lot of time down at Ocean Drive, Lincoln Road and that general busy, young area meaning we spent a fair amount on Ubers back and too. Having said this it was not a problem as the beach runs all along the island and can be entered anywhere. The hotel was also in a good location for access over the bridge to the mainland to areas such as Miami Downtown, Brickell, Wynwood and Little Havana.

All round a great experience in Miami and an impressive hotel and stay. I would recommend staying at Red as it is great value for money and in a great place on the beach if you don’t mind a walk into town or spending a small amount on Uber’s. Just to finish, some activities we did during our stay that can be purchased at the hotel reception include;

- Miami Helicopter Tour
- Everglades Tour
- Biscayne Bay Cruise
- Trip to Brickell (amazing place for drinks and food)
- Nikki Beach Club, South Beach
- Rent a car ($29 per night at hotel parking)
- Wynwood Walls
- And ofcourse the amazing beaches!

Enjoy Miami 🇺🇸🏝
