Too many service issues
Reviewed 2 days ago

This is a nice property, though I’d question its five star class status. This is on par with a Hilton, not a Hyatt Regency, Ritz or Four Seasons. The bed is very comfortable and the property is luxurious and clean.

The best part of the hotel is the rocking pool scene. The rooftop setting is fun with great views. One pool is heated, the other is not. You’ll be pampered by the staff and drink service, albeit slow.

However, our stay was riddled with service issues. During the first night, I was rudely awoken by what sounded like a fire alarm. The front desk did not know what caused it and sent maintenance to check. While the issue did not repeat, I never received an update. Second, billing has been a disaster. In spite of checking in separately, I was billed for two of my friends’ rooms. One was refunded after I called the hotel, but I had to dispute the other charge. After talking to the hotel again, they can’t seem to figure out what happened.

The bathroom is spacious with a tub, shower, and separate toilet room. However, the shower door didn’t close properly and the waterfall shower lacked ample pressure.

Finally, I was disappointed to only be granted a one hour late checkout when I requested a two hour late checkout. Then, they temporarily lost my bag. I actually had to go to the back room and find my own bag.

EPIC Hotel is a terrific Miami venue with a staff that excels in service. A big plus was the deck off guest rooms overlooking the Biscayne Bay. The cuisine is terrific, with a nod towards the Miami / Havana flavors.

Epic is True to it name

So we were coming to Miami for Music Week and after searching and looking at alot of Hotels we chose The Kimpton Epic. When we arrived the Hotel definitely has a Wow Factor. We were checked by Donovon who made us feel extremely welcome. The room was large, with a large balcony over looking the pool and very large bathroom. We had booked The Epic as it was Hosting The Epic Pool Parties and when we realised that our balcony was facing the resistance pool we contacted Ivanna who swiftly moved us facing the Guest Pool and we also got wristbands for the whole music event. Ivanna made our stay absolutely amazing and she was so professional, helpful and excellent at her job, she couldn't do enough for us and if we needed anything she was on it straight away. The hotel is in a great location and the views are amazing from the hotel. We had Dinner in Area 31 also which was gorgeous also. I would highly recommend The Kimpton Epic Hotel.

EPIC describes the best and worst of it

We stayed for a night at this well situated downtown property, walking distance from Bayfront park, Metromover, Brickell, and Miami Circle. The check-in was friendly and fast. Spacious lobby exuded a vibrant Miami vibe, where free evening wine tasting and morning coffee served. The room key card however took time to register - so there was a slight panic upon arriving to the 24th floor with all the luggage to find that neither key would open the door. We tried again in a few minutes and they worked. The room had an enormous bathroom but the bedroom (with two double beds) seemed cramped but quite comfy and clean. Fully stocked fridge and snacks in the room but no coffee/tea service. Free WI-FI, discount cards for the Area 31 restaurant and Exhale spa. The spa is rather extensive with usual amenities but a surprisingly long walk to the massage room. Area 31 has a bar and small lounge area - a great place to wait if you arrive for check-in before 3pm until your room is available. Friendly staff. Be forewarned minimum 20 minutes wait for valet, and the driveway can get crowded at any time of day or night. We found it best to leave the car ($44+ per day) and either walk or walk to the nearest street and catch a Lyft ride-share.

We stayed here for 3 nights before a cruise. First time at this hotel. Gorgeous hotel, room was spacious and bathroom was huge. Staff were great. Free coffee in the morning between 9 and 10 I think in the foyer, concierge was very helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel
