How to Get There

Ithaca of South Beach Hotel
601 Collins Ave
Miami Beach, FL 33139 United States

I arrived on a mostly sunny Sunday to this fantastic boutique hotel. Check in took 2 minutes with Javier and in a very spacious king sweet. The hotel only has 11 rooms on Collins in the Deco district in an old bank. Close walk to everything on South Beach. Clean comfortable and very pleasant staff. A big shout out to Javier great employee the owners should be happy to have such a dedicated team player

Labor Day Weekend

Arrived at Ithaca on August 21, 2019 and while a lot of folks were trying to avoid Hurricane Dorian, I was just getting settled in. Javier greeted my friend and I and informed us that we were in good hands. The room was clean and the hotel is located in the heart of Collins Ave, where it all happens - food, beach and shops are all around you. If you are looking for a quiet spot, don't came to Ithaca. While the hotel is clean and quite, once you step outside it's live. The location is like a 2 minute walk to the beach and hotel will provide the perfect chairs and towels. Needless to say I had a great time and Ithaca is my new home away from home.

Terrible sewer smell in room 105, no exaggeration.

Bad: terrible sewer smell, health hazard, smelt so bad that even the managers stepped one foot in and jumped out of bathroom. No refunds or discounts. Was switched to another room the last 1-2 nights. Was there for 8 days total. Did not look forward to coming back to hotel. Tried to stay out of hotel. Didn't get to sleep well bc of the smell and because of loud ac, really loud rattling ac. Which meant waking up late and ruining my schedule. Also small breakfast area for 4-8 people. Cute setting and wide variety. Not a problem for me since I ate there once. But was an issue for some others. I had breakfast at Pura Vida or Under The Mango Tree. Towels had stains and bathrobes had stains. They gave me new non stained towels. There was brown stains on the bathroom wall by toilet of the new room they switched me to. But they are trying to prevent it by warning tenants that if you stain towels, you have to pay. They also provide make up remover wet towels.

Good: nice and friendly workers, great location, complimentary breakfast AM and complimentary wine and cheese PM (I didn't attend). Also they provide beach bag, umbrella, and towels- so covenient. Not "too" loud at night in regards to tourism (ac was really loud though, obnoxious loud, not the calm soothing loud).

I attached some photos of how I tried to block the smell with a towel. I wore gloves. The water that dripped on towel left a yellow stain. I think it was room 105 if I'm not mistaken.
