Adequate hotel in excellent position
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We were disappointed that overall this hotel failed to live up to the rather flattering website description. It's very conveniently situated but rather quirky. While staff were helpful there is no lift which is a problem if like us you are on a long trip and have a lot of luggage. Also the 'suite' we had booked, although spacious, was old-fashioned and slightly faded looking ; it had a full length glass door backed with a venetian blind which to us did not seem very secure. The lighting was rather dreary and the aircon was also extremely noisy.
That said the bed was comfortable and the position excellent for exploring South Beach

Fantastic value

Dont bother booking the most expensive hotels in Miami, the Impala is perfectly located on Collins Avenue, side by side with the hotels that cost thousands a night. We found all of the staff were amazing and very helpful especially with transportation and suggestions.

The rooms are clean, spacious, and so comfortable. Free continental breakfast was fine, not the best, but enough for us to be full and start our day.

Great hotel!

Stayed here for a few nights while exploring Miami. We wanted something close to the beach, but a little away from the nightly chaos. Here is what we found. This hotel was close to all of the main attractions in South Beach. It was easy to get a cab out of South Beach as well to the rest of Miami. The staff was beyond helpful and was very accommodating sharing their local knowledge of activities, transportation and restaurants. Would definitely return.

The place has got the atmosphere

Lovely hotel just minutes away from Ocean Drive and the beach. But it is not just about the location... it has got the atmosphere of the boutique hotel and a lovely secluded patio off the street. The staff was very helpful!

good hotel in good location

The Impala is a small hotel in the art-deco district of South Beach. There is no lift but it wasn't a problem negotiating one flight of stairs. our room was rear-facing so there was no view but the trade off was a quiet night's sleep--we barely heard any outside noise during our four night stay. Ours was a deluxe room which was worth the extra for the extra space and peace. Facilities in the room were adequate with safe and fridge --which was a must in high temperatures. The air-con was noisy but again was a necessity with temperatures in the high 80s in early November.
The big plus of the hotel is the friendly and helpful staff .The downside is the inclusive breakfast which is taken a few steps away at the sister hotel La Flora--- very basic with no real choice. Just a waker-upper really. You would need to go elsewhere for a more substantial start to the day.
However, the attached Italian restaurant was of a high standard and reasonably priced for South Beach.

the hotel is in a great location for the beach with all its attractions with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. it is also only a few minutes easy walk to the hop-on bus stop and the airport express bus which is fantastic value and an easy 25 minute trip. Overall this is a good base in south beach although not cheap and with limited facilities.
