How to Get There
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights before going on a cruise. Check in was pleasant and quick. The band you receive for breakfast etc was never worn and never asked for.
Rooms are nice and clean with a bathroom and lots of toiletries.
The breakfast was better than expected, fresh fruit, rolls, pastries, yoghurt, cakes and lots of different beveridges.
South Beach is failrly expensive but the cheapest bar was the hotel bar.
The sister hotel The Cleveland is a party hotel but worth a visit.
Situated in a great part of South Beach and worth the money
In short, I stayed here in '04 in a suite and loved it. I requested a suite through Expedia and was charged an extra $50 per night for an upgraded room which was never given to me. Although I told them I had been confirmed for an upgraded room, no one @ check in bothered to check that in the system that I was already being charged for an upgraded room. My room felt more like a hostel than a hotel room. It was dismal and substandard with plumbing problems in an outdated bathroom. Jercy on 2nd shift refused to print out my charges so that I could see where I was being overcharged. She also dismissed me after I still could not understand the charges since she would no print them out and proceeded to dismiss me and then proceeded to badmouth me to other staff. I had never been treated like that as a guest in a "hotel". That tells what kind of place this is. She also refused to switch my room without even looking into the computer. "Valet" refused to find me a manager. When Rafael started the 3rd shift he was easily able to print out my charges and see where I was overcharged. He was efficient, respectful and knows the meaning of customer service. A promotion is in order. The man from Engineering who fixed the various plumbing problems was very friendly and efficient and should be recognized. These 2 people were the only highlight of the trip. Way overpriced to be in a hostel-type room for $250/night even though you are charged for a suite. Not to mention to be treated like a nuisance.
We booked the suite, quiet enough to sleep and close enough for the party. The pool is a great touch. Staff are great and so helpful. Only piece of feedback: clean all of the room - mosquitos kept getting in our room so we noticed every inch of the room. The rooms are clean but just all the wood and morriors need wiping down. Overall would stay again. Colins is super trendy, where all the shops are and nice places to eat if you want to get off ocean drive. Its great you can use the clevlender aswell. I have stayed there before and personally I found the constant party vibes too much. However a super fun hotel. Make sure you check out Wynwood it's such a cool spot in Miami and fireman Derek's bakery. Oh and the pink lemonade in the hotel is a nice touch from that miami heat.
Stayed there for our first night in Miami Beach and absolutely loved it. Friendly staff at the reception, clean room and comfy bed. The complimentary entry badge for the Clevelander Hotel bar was a nice little perk, too. Everything (beach, Ocean Drive) is in walking distance, therefore no car necessary to get around in the evening. Unfortunately no parking at the hotel available, one has to use valet parking which adds another 42$ to the daily rate. Nevertheless, great stay in a nice little hotel. Will check again when we are back in Miami Beach one day.
Room was cleaned 2 of the 4 day stay. Called the front desk to make a noise complaint. No response to the offending room. The next night I stopped a employee in the hall to complain about the same thing again, no response.
