Hotel is in a middle of everything, only good thing about it. It has 5 buildings and only 1 person at the front area with 1 bell boy. Every trip to front desk is 30-40 min wait and trust me you make a lot of those trips, because phone in the room is just a decoy(broken & not plugged in). To drop off/ pick up luggage you wait, or you can leave your items unattended and hope nothing happens to it. Girls at the front nice at check in after that, they are there but not very helpful or even friendly. They tell you call customer service if you have any questions. Security on the premises seems like its for their safety and not the customers. For 4 people they give us 2 towels, and 1 bedding set. Bedding sets no one washes between guests all 4 of us had rashes after sleeping in this disgusting beds. Bathroom sliding doors were broken and didn't close all the way. There is no housekeeping or you can pay $15 if you want it. They spray hallways with Febreze so much that when you walk down the hallway you can see a spray cloud and start chocking on it. Pictures on the website are from when they first opened, and it would be ok if its just outdated. But no up keeping is being done to keep this place decent. They charged us resort fee for 2 toddlers no hotel does that. Resort fee includes beach towels but there is $10 deposit per towel which apparently supervisor not aware of that front desk charges. Shades on the windows had brown spots on them and one of the shades was broken you can't open or close it. A front desk supervisor on the phone told me this is a brand new hotel, and she was shocked to hear me describe the rooms.Plus not to mention they tell you, you going to pay one amount and then they charge you something else. Front desk tells you call customer service, customer service, accounting department never picks up. Reservation person just laughed at me and gave me her supervisor who promised that GM will call me back. Stay away from this place, dont waste your money on this dump. I am not sure how this place stays up to code on health codes.

Dirty accommodations and we found bed bugs. The accommodations were very outdated, which isn’t that big of a deal if it was clean. Found cobwebs and dust all over and then the bed bugs threw us over the edge. The only thing that was positive was the location

Best stay ever

This hotel is connected to the palace bar. Drag shows daily are to die for. Very entertaining. If my friend didn't make me leave the room I could have stayed on the balcony all day. However if you need peace and quiet, this isn't the hotel for you.

There are several Bldgs, it depends which one you get!!

So, 'Congress Suites' is a row of about 3-4 bldgs that have been turned into rooms/ suites. The room we got for the first 3 days of our trip was great.
It was in Building 1.
Perfect. Exactly as pictured. Huge room, great furnishings, super clean klitchen, beautiful bathroom, etc... no real view, but thats ok.

And the staff, at front desk were really good. I now know, judgeing by the 2nd half of our stay, they have alot to put up with. I sympathize wih them.

So, we leave Miami for 4 days and then return for our final 2 days. Well, this time we are put into Bldg D. We go to the room expecting the same as the first room, as they look similar in pictures. But noooo way, OMG, this room was horrible, apparently as are most of the rooms in Bldg D, i know b/c we saw many of them. We get into the room and it stinks so bad. ALL the furnishings, sofa, chair, headboard as well as the sheets and comforter were disgusting! The walls / doors were filthy. One towel for 2 people, no pans / pots or anything in the kitchen. The hallsway reek of Urine. The whole place was such a mess.

So we went back down to the lobby and I explained to the girl at the desk, who honestly could not have been kinder, she absolutely knew what we were dealing with. She gave us keys to the only other unit available and it was ...'liveable' especially when most of South Beach is booked or you pay $500 a night. So we were stuck. This room was .... better, but not by much. It was hard to lay our head on the pillows, you just knew nothing had been cleaned in ages. The cover blanket was so gross, we just tossed it in the corner and tried not to look at it.

Its a shame b/c the location is good. the rooftop pool is nice. but these units were gross. In the morning, we went to make Coffee and the coffee pot was so clogged and filthy, you couldnt even pry it open to clean it! No lie. There was no dish soap, no sponges, nothing to clean your glasses or plates with in the kitchen.

I cant imagine this place staying in business long. Management is doing a horrific job! And yes, I own rental properties and retail businesses, so i know what it takes. This is deplorable!!

So, if i had never stayed in Bldg D, i prolly would have given this review 4 stars, but the last stay in Bldg 1, killed any promise of that!!! Stay away.

What a complete JOKE

We stayed one night and got the hell out of dodge. No housekeeping, no rooftop pool bar, no lock on the door or in-room safe. Run down, dirty, broken phone and broken TV. No pull out sofa. Completely falsely advertised. Frankly, not even anywhere near being considered serviceable. In a word, it’s a dump.
