How to Get There
First, I booked with Hotels.com and I will never make that mistake again. The Clevelander Hotel and Hotels.com refused to let me which rooms which was the exact same price and available. Sent messages and multiple calls and nothing accomplished, and requested upon check in. The roof top was closed and you could not access. The pool is not a pool, its a novelty. Don't think you can sit around or hang out in it. If you want to stop by here from drinks and such I would recommend but staying here is not worth it. I had an ocean front room which was small, outdated and slightly dirty. One thing you cannot argue though is the location is great, but so is the other 20 hotels on the same street. 2.5-3 stars based upon my situation and service i was given.
Good time in Miami with sun, hot and Harvey Davidson. Very good position in Ocean Drive. Cool staff, drink well, music ok. Room at 5’ floor, top floor with ocean view and pool view and ocean view with beach
First class stay. From Tatiana at front desk and kevon handling are room stay. Will be back again definitely very happy. Bars are a plus 5 stars all around. Saturday day is the place you need to be one stop place.
I stayed here with friends following a week in Orlando for a total of 4 nights. Upon reviewing some of the reviews and comments for this hotel, I was extremely nervous and apprehensive of what we was going to walk in to, however we was pleasantly surprised.
The hotel is situated right on Ocean Drive, which is where South Beach is. The hotel looks out over the beach and the views are spectacular. The hotel certainly has the curb factor from outside and is extremely well presented on the inside too. The hotel is clean and tidy throughout and looks fresh with it's white art-deco appearance.
The rooms are very clean, modern and vibrant however were extremely small. There was 3 of us in the room, which consisted of 2 double beds, which weren't the biggest doubles, but they did the job and were clean and very comfortable. Theres a iron and ironing board in each room, as well as a hair-dryer. There is little to no space to put bags or clothes, as such, we lived out of our suitcases for the entire stay. There is a safe inside the small built-in wardrobe which is free and easy to use. The bathroom/ toilet feels like it's almost in the room, with sliding frosted doors, so you can see shadows of people within and can hear everything, so if you aren't a close friends or family, be prepared to hear each other going to to the toilet, but this luckily wasn't something that bothered us.
There seems to be a big issue on people struggling to sleep due to the noise levels and was one of our biggest fears, however I can honestly say that at no point could we hear the music coming from the hotels bar area outside, so we were extremely pleased. That said, we was on the other side, so if you do happen to be on the pool view side of the hotel, I can't comment on that, however even those reviews that do seem to complain on the noise level, appeared to all be moved to quieter rooms without issue.
The pool is a very small one which is situated in the bar area of the hotel and the bar/ restaurant is open to the public and there aren't sun loungers as such, so if you inside to chill by the pool all day, this isn't the hotel for you, however the beach is meters away and much more appealing. The hotel has 6 floors and on the 4th floor, there is a sun deck (hotel guests only) with very comfy sun loungers and chairs, to sunbathe in and on the 6th floor, theres a roof top area, which has lots of comfy seating, a bar open in peak times and beautiful views across South Beach, Miami. Both 4th and 6th floor deck areas do have small pool areas to dip into, but they are about a foot deep, so aren't pools and aren't for swimming in.
The staff on the hotel desk were always very welcoming and helpful, as were the bar and restaurant staff.
There is NO parking at the hotel, however they do offer valet parking for a ridiculous $46 a night! The cheapest parking is a municipal multi-story on 13th with Ocean Drive which is $20 a night but you won't find parking cheaper anywhere in South Beach.
The hotel offers FREE wifi for your stay.
The bar/ restaurant is fairly decent. It's extremely lively in the evening and is open till about 3am and has pool parties on a Friday and Saturday and the food is fairly decent too. it's averagely priced to everywhere in Miami.
If you do use the bar/ restaurant, there is a mandatory 20% service charge on total checks, however having been to tons in the area, they all put a 20% service charge on the bill anyway.
Miami in general is very, very expensive but is a beautiful city.
We enjoyed our stay at the Clevelander Hotel and despite all the negative reviews, would happily stay here again.
The attached pictures were taken from the hotels roof-top chill area!
If you read any of my other reviews , you will see I am not a harsh person - but for this place - i would not recommend going
1. Service is terrible
2. The bouncers are like criminals
There are so many other nicer , friendly places
Shame on Clevelander for hiring thugs
I was threatened and felt violated during my stay
I work on Wall Street and no one should be treated with such disrespect
My next Miami trip will not have Clevelander on it
