Awesome Gem in South Beach
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This was our first stay at this type of hotel and we did not know what to expect. We were not disappointed!! This is a great little Gem in the downtown South Beach area.
The property is clean, well maintained, and nicely decorated. The property has loads of character.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was very well equipped and clean. Breakfast was included and we found the overall value of Blank Kara was great. Keeping in mind everything in the area is a little more $$ and you get what you pay for.

The location is perfect and within walking distance to restaurants and bars along Ocean Drive. There is a convenience store around the corner and a pharmacy not far away.
We were going on a cruise and it was a short Uber ride to the Miami cruise port, approximately $11.00 to get there.

This is a great property and we would definitely stay here again when visiting the area.

An enjoyable South Beach stay

A great location downtown South Beach. Close enough to everything with out the craziness of the congestion. We got in late but the staff were helpful and efficient. The rooms were large and comfortable. The room was uniquely designed and tastefully decorated. A unique and quaint boutique hotel and would consider this hotel again.

My husband and I were celebrating our 5th anniversary and really enjoyed our short but very sweet stay at Blanc Kara. Checking in a little late in the afternoon we were greeted by Rosy and she was also able to Guide us where to go for the night considering it was Monday night. She put us in room 201!It was a beautiful room with plenty of space . It’s like a 1 bedroom apartment .Decor is simple and clean and our room had a beautiful huge terrace over looking the street and Big pink restaurant. The offer valet parking for $30 which was very convenient for us. South beach is with walking distance and we were able to even make it walking back after a fun night at Mangoes. There is a restaurant across the street for early or late night nomnom. Also a block away is a Starbucks ✅. Lincoln road is about a 10 min drive. There was continental breakfast offered from 8am-10am. Includes coffee, eggs, potatoes, croissant, has and cheese. Nothing crazy but it was good and best part it’s included!! Can’t complain over that. I can’t wit to come back and stay here again. The nightly rate of 90/night was a steal!

A South Beach gem

This quirky little hotel, with its shaggy fur lobby pillows and colorful rooms, is a real find. The rooms -- at least the three we saw -- are colorful and all feature cooking facilities. The location can't be beat. Get out early and walk the block to the beach to wade in the water when only the local dog walkers are out. Head around the corner toward the beach for a variety of restaurants where you can sit outside on a balmy evening and watch the world go by. The staff is friendly and helpful. There's even a little bodega a few doors down where you can buy food and drink. There's a great ceviche place (myceviche) a block away and a bevy of shops and restaurants on Collins Ave. In short, this hotel has everything you need at reasonable prices. And yes, it is an adults-only hotel, with a pack of condoms in the bathroom.

Steep steps, no assistance, noise all night and more

Because a good friend found this hotel we booked a room for several nights to join them in visiting South Beach. We had to park and then put our car in valet storage at an additional cost. We are in our 70s and had to lug our bags and other items up the steps and to our room on the second floor. We had a room and a terrace overlooking a busy restaurant across the street. The terrace seating was a sofa like affair with questionable dirty looking upholstery that might seat two. Our kitchenette was adequate. But using the shower was fraught with danger. The floor of the shower was slick white tile. The sides were clear glass and there were no hand holds. Until we begged a heavy beach towel to put on the floor there was no way we could have used the shower without falling. The shower temperature control fell off in our hands. Our stay was to include breakfast in the morning. That was crammed into a tiny room where we had to share our table with strangers. The breakfast was meager and not as good as a budget priced Holiday Inn Express. At night we listened to people on the floor above pacing heavily back and forth at 3 and 4 a.m. over our heads. It sounded as though they might be were renovating the area above. It was hard to sleep. And when we left once again there was no trolley we could use for hanging clothing and bags and no one available to help us get our bags down the steep entry and into our car.
