How to Get There
This is a good looking and comfortable hotel. Parking is limited but the location is very good.
Unfortunately, I called ahead and asked if the hotel was wheelchair accessible and the front desk said yes, I arrived with a friend in a wheelchair and it was difficult to navigate into the room and inside the room itself. Hallways and doors were too small for wheelchairs. The threshold were too high as well. No ADA parking.
This is a super location and a nice complex. The staff members are good and attentive. Parking is available but at an extra $35 per day. We stayed in no 5. It was towards the back to the left. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything through the ceiling. There is also periods of gushing water for long periods of time outside the apartment. Size was very good. Single bed on the second room does not suit any over 5'10.
We only were here one night. We had a room that faced the street and it was noisy at night. The room is modern and kitchenette nice. Across the convention center parking lot is the Botanical Garden (short cut through the parking lot on the left). The Holocaust Museum is about a block away-follow the road the the left. Eerie but cool!
Location really handy for Miami South Beach. Walking distance to the beach and just up the road from the Lincoln Road area, Collins avenue and ocean drive. Rooms are great, modern and spacious. V helpful staff, Andrei especially. Highly recommended, but like all Florida, not cheap.
I’m not typically one to write bad reviews unless absolutely necessary. My stay at this hotel was an absolute nightmare.
The hotel is certainly cute and is decorated well, but at the end of the day what you have here is a beautified low budget motel.
Our stay started with our room not being ready when we arrived at 5pm. Ok, I get it. Occupancy is sometimes full, cleaning crew not moving fast enough etc. etc. We received a call from the front desk around 6:30pm letting us know our room was ready.... Pretty late check in....
When you read some other reviews on here stating that the hotel is noisy and you can here everything, they are not joking... You hear EVERYTHING!!! Speaking of the noise and aside from hearing the people in the room next to us snoring, the real nightmare started at around 1am that night when we were awoken by a couple in the room upstairs stomping, screaming at each other and throwing things around the room. I was hoping it would be over rather quickly, but then the signs of domestic
violence came about with a male screaming curse words and the female yelling back and crying “don’t touch me”, “get off of me”, etc etc. It was awful. So of course at that point, I had to call the police to come check it out. The police came within minutes (kudos to Miami PD!) and handled the situation. After over an hour of cops taking care of the situation, sirens, police lights, shouting, etc. I was finally able to get to bed at around 3am.
When I advised the front desk of the situation the next morning, they did absolutely nothing to accommodate the disruption and basically said “oh yeah, we heard about it”. I get it, the hotel didn’t choose those particular guests to stay there, but they could have at least provided anything as a gesture. Perhaps waiving the resort fee that gives you absolutely nothing at all?.....
To top the entire stay off, the next morning as we were about to depart our room with barely any sleep at that point, I begin to roll my luggage out the door and out the side of my eye I see a little critter quickly scurry from underneath my bag to the corner of the room. Hoping it was just my sleepy eyes seeing things, I take a closer look and sure enough.... it was a giant cockroach. Ugh....
So with no available room after check in time, no sleep from a domestic disturbance, and a cockroach hanging out underneath my luggage in the room, guess what I received from the hotel? A little coupon for 10% off my next stay...... lol! Next stay? I think absolutely not....
