Cutting-edge boutique hotel and sexy adults-only playground just three blocks from the beach
Opened in July 2014, the Hotel Vintro South Beach is housed in an Art Deco building on Park Avenue and has a fresh, artistic, urban look, from the spray-painted rooftop mural to the bright and bold artworks in the 50 rooms and suites. High-end amenities include Bluetooth clock radios and Illy coffee machines, while the peekaboo bathrooms feature rainfall showerheads and all-natural products; they up the sexy factor by being visible from the rest of the room. The rooftop courtyard doubles as a playground, with loungers, hammocks, a plunge pool and a ping-pong table. For additional ways to kick back, chairs and umbrellas are available at the beach (a five-minute walk from the property), or you can relax in the hotel’s spa-style treatment rooms. The Kitchen South Beach blends Latin and Mediterranean flavors in dishes such as caramelized sea scallops with corn salsa, or spicy lamb meatballs with goat cheese and pickles; dine inside in an elegant setting under the lofty 30-foot ceiling or on the terrace overlooking Collins Canal.
In the Area
Neighboring the Vintro is the Bass Museum of Art and Miami City Ballet; for additional exploration, bicycle rentals and a Mercedes van shuttle service are included in the resort fee. If you’re interested in getting out on the water, charter an eight-passenger speedboat from the hotel directly, or rent equipment for water sports at local operators ranging from jet skis to paddleboards. Other attractions nearby include the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens, the New World Symphony and the shopper’s paradise, Lincoln Road Mall. Miami’s racy nightlife scene is constantly evolving, but visitors can check out SET (on Lincoln Road) or Story nightclub for bottle service and dancing.
