Gorgeous

If you’re looking to stay downtown in Guadalajara, Mexico, I highly recommend this hotel!! The lobby & bar area are bright, modern & beautiful!! The staff was lovely & very helpful. My room was gorgeous! I loved walking in to the wall of closets, as well as the spacious room with king bed, desk area & sitting area as well. Very light & bright. If I was renovating my bathroom, I’d love it just like the bathroom in my room! Large, roomy shower & lovely marble floors! There was a coffee maker, but sadly no mini fridge, which would have made my stay even better. Please consider this hotel & you won’t be disappointed!!

Great for Business Travel

Hotel was across from the convention center which was perfect for work. Not quite as convenient for other parts of town, but most things were an easy taxi or Uber ride away. Rooms were comfortable. Breakfast buffet and room service menus were quite good.

Nice Hotel for Business Travelers

Stayed one night and enjoyed a lot of the amenities offered at The Westin in Guadalajara. We chose this property because we wanted confidence that we would get the service and good night sleep we're used to with this brand. The hotel did not disappoint. The large King bedroom was spacious and the gym had everything we needed - it was a larger than normal gym. There were 7 people in the gym when we went and we never felt we were waiting for machines. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel which were good. This did feel like a business hotel which makes sense since it's across the street from the Expo center. No one was at the main bar near the lobby and only one other guest at dinner. The hotel really came to life for breakfast where local business groups gathered. The restaurant was full (which we like) and the buffet spread was fantastic - hot and cold dishes, chefs making omlettes / quesadillas outside on the patio, and many fresh fruit options.

Hard to believe service can be this bad

I previously removed this review as I considered it a bit harsh, but now when I've contacted Marriot about points the hotel employees repeatedly told them I didn't stay there. I'm not putting any more time into arguing with them and instead just want to warn others to stay elsewhere.

I should note that the hotel manager previously tried to have my review removed from here. If you're reading this and you work at Westin Guadalajara: do not try to remove my review! It's bad because your service is bad. If you try to remove it, I will simply update the review to note that you didn't even read it just like you refuse to read your own room service menus and do not disturb signs. Sigh...

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at in my life:

- Walls are paper thin. There is noise louder than can be covered by earplugs 24 hours a day. Housekeeping staff spend most of the daytime hours shouting at each other while running the vacuum in the hallway.
- You can hear street noise from the higher floors.
- Room was filthy. Literally a pile of pubic hair on the bathroom floor.
- Many things in the room were broken: one of the phones, a lamp, etc.
- Concierge desk, but no concierge.
- Service is awful. If you need anything, be prepared to mark out several hours to spend on the phone with the front desk.
- Staff will enter your room even with "do not disturb" sign on the door. This is super creepy. I kept yelling, "Don't come in," but the pervert did anyway. I was naked...

I don't know what more to say. I really didn't know hotels this bad existed until I came to Guadalajara.

not quite there

I don't know how to explain it: it just falls short on service. Everyone is polite but really...I just heard no too many times, with the exception of the restaurant. At the check in they don't say anything about the hotel, the concierge was supposed to get back to me on a tour reservation, and never did. At the bar when you ask for a wine, it is at room temperature...meaning 28C and wont even offer to chill it, and I can go on and on. The restaurant was the only place where they seem truly concerned with offering their best service. Anyway, I moved to another hotel...and I am a platinum member....I preferred not to earn points or nights.
