Overall, I enjoyed the stay.

I appreciated the efficiency and professionalism during at check-in.

The room was good, but I believe that we booked the Deluxe Room, and were given the Superior. No matter, it was only money. Also, seems that our rate included a turn down service for both nights, but only received one. And, house keeping arrived at nearly dinner time - guess they prioritized those rooms being checked out, vice continued stay guests.

I enjoyed use of the gym, and the Spa. The massage package was money well spent.

The pool (which overruns to the bar experience) was good, but I’m curious why there is a sign posted that Friday and Saturday night(s) include a happy hour. But there was clearly no happy hour.

Moving into the bar/drinks arena, I was surprised by the cost of alcohol at New World. It seems if you can catch happy hour (during the secret periods it is held), the drink prices are good. Otherwise seems that New World is trying to fund their entire business with alcohol sales. NWM - prices are too high. You should check yourselves. As a result, we found ourselves at Greenbelt often for drinks and dinner.

But the lowlight to my experience (unless it suddenly gets worse in the next few hours) was breakfast. I really think their needs to be a hygiene survey done as silverware handling and table set-up is just not very sanitary. The silverware is laid directly on the table, after many hands have touched the pointy end of the fork, and the table wiped by whatever means clears food from the last patron.

And, to add to my breakfast experience, I arrived around 0715 when I was one of the few guests in the restaurant. We were seated at an undesirable location, and when we requested another place, were told to sit here while the hostess checked elsewhere. Well, thank you great hostess for the wooden beam that was originally placed in the center of my back, and then was always uncomfortable rubbing my shoulder during the meal, after I had repositioned the table.

I guess this is 5 Star Manila, and not really 5 Star elsewhere.

i will think carefully next time before re-booking the New World.

Dirty room, smelly carpet and lacking customer service.

When I stayed, I was promised on my return back, I won’t have the same issue but that was false. I made a complaint again about it but the senior managers seems to be uninterested to solve it so I did not stay the second time and move to another hotel for my health and safety.
