How to Get There
I am so excited to be back here once again... we were here in June of 2012, I think it’s serendipitous that I’m in the same room .. this time, I was in town for 11 days two of those days were reserved for myself as it’s conveniently close to the airport, I had time to soak in the ambiance The Shangri-La is known for.. ( Classy without pretentiousness)I started my day with the hotel staff being kind and help me eagerly with my luggage, and I was checked in fast.. couldn’t sleep so I decided to checkout the steam room, jacuzzi and sauna... since I have two days to kill two birds with one stone... I ask on my way out, to check out the spa. and book a massage! after all one is never a Queen without a Massage. the next days adventures was breakfast at Circles( more on that on my other review) and half spend my day relaxing at the pool till my massage, it’s been truly a great two days of serenity in this place. If you look up Shangri-La in the dictionary it says it’s a Garden of Eden, to represent paradise to a modern man. or a woman to add to this, thank you again
Despite having simple standard accomodation (you know...company is not investing $$ gor regular staff lodging), i must say it was way above my expectations..divine/versatile breakfast...top quality restaurants...ohhh this jappanesse one...splendid...excellent room service, quality drivers. I. Delighted
We had an event at Makati Shangrila, I do felt that it’s an ageing hotel, the bathroom sink had some stains and black mildews. I hope they can refurbish maintain it thoroughly because I still see it as one of the best hotels in the country.
The place smells great and the security is very strict, scanning all belongings prior to hotel entry, which is a positive for me. We were allowed early check-in, which is much appreciated! Room is very clean and beds very comfortable.
Checked in today and noticed there were only two towels in the bathroom. The hotel knowingly knew we had 4 people. Called to ask for more towels and asked why there were only two towels in the room. The staff said that every room has only two towels. I’m appalled by this because this is a five star luxury hotel. Seriously thinking about transferring to another hotel.
