How to Get There
We made a reservation here which was not very easy, a lot of regulations you have to comply with and sign, not only when booking but also again on arrival (we found this deterrent, this will keep many people off booking). The people here are very friendly and attentive, the room was marvellous overlooking the ocean from the window. Very clean, all was working properly in a spacious bathroom. The breakfast is made just in time, a combination of buffet and out of the kitchen. Tasting extraordinary, and always made fresh with fresh ingredients mostly from their own gardens. For the house guests they offer a dinner which you will have to order in advance because the number of guests they have limits the kitchen‘s capabilities. The taste was very fine, we never had a better salad in the whole US in the last 20 years or so. Summarized, this is a very fine hotel with a stunning environment, great rooms and food, reservation here very much needs getting used to.
We saw this Inn driving back from Pacific Star Winery and I wrote the name down to research it. We booked it on our next trip up to Mendocino County and just loved it and every detail.
There are only a few times you stay at a place where you know the owner built it with love and not just as an investment. The details and every nook are beautiful. The attention to detail impeccable. We loved our Captain's Quarters, but loved the whole property.
The breakfasts were amazing and so were the Happy Hours and dinner. Definitely book dinner there.
We loved the buggy ride around the property and I don't know if they are offered to outside visitors, but I would recommend it even if you are not staying there. I would even do it again; it's educational, beautiful and we loved our tour guide, and sorry I am blank on his name right now.
They arranged for a massage and they have a lovely dedicated room. My therapist was so wonderful, not to sound too Californian, but it was a spiritual experience. It was more than a massage; it was a helpful experience.
We will be back. The drive is a bit long from the city, so we prefer to take a Friday off when we go up there, so next chance for some time off, I will book us a visit!
Rarely do you find a sanctuary of nature and accommodations like this. The property is perched on the edge of the world overlooking the crashing waves and rocks below. The property is so over the top, it amazes in by inch with rich details of a mad man perfectionist.
Service is best described as ‘Over the moon and back for you’. We hate to let the secret out of this magical place we imagine as heaven.
We’re going back!
