How to Get There
The building is quite grand and the welcome very professional. Our room was superb but we arrived too late to take advantage of the pools and other facilities. Also, our tour took us to an external restaurant for dinner but, amazingly, the hotel transported us to it in its own launch.
Breakfast, however, was perfect and if I wanted to be picky and criticise anything it would have to be the mini-bar prices. They are extortionate, rivalling many in the UK.
Upon arrival one is greeted by the beautiful entrance. Apart form the usual sat down, offered a freshening cool flannel, then offered a cool drink on check-in we were also treated to a shoulder massage. Never had this service before anywhere else. Loved the very French architecture. Our room was overlooking the pool and could see the river thru the palms. Great amenities in our large room. Took the free shuttle to the market and back. Breakfast was reasonable, adequate choice. Would have loved to stay longer than overnight. All staff were very efficient and amiable, not expecting tips.
Came to this Hotel by boat from Cambodia for a 1 night stay before travelling further. Hotel is very nice by the river. Staff very friendly, free Wifi. As we arrived in the evening we did not have time to wander outside to see what was available. Dinner was good and breakfast was good as well.
Gorgeous oasis around 15 mins walk along the riverside to the city. We had pleasant lunch on the terrace, lazed around the pool then had fabulous spa treatments. Large bedroom with view over the 2 swimming pools.
Only criticism would be one of the employees had their children in the pool from around 16:30 – it’s a grown-up hotel with chilled out vibe, the pool is located next to the spa so instead of relaxing chillout music we could hear children in the pool which goes against what I expect when receiving a relaxing massage. Travelling as a couple we were looking forward to tranquillity during a full-on tour.
Victoria Can Tho is a beautiful resort with an excellent guest oriented service from a plentiful and well trained staff. It is located on a well developed part of the river close to a popular walking bridge to the heart of Can Tho.
