Nice location

I was visiting for an event at MIT and it was easy to walk anywhere I could need to go. The fire alarm went off at 5 AM my first night there which was pretty rough, and I never got an explanation. The room service menu was not very enticing, and the rates were outrageous the week I was there... but overall it was a fine place to stay and sleep.

Convenient Location - and that is the only positive!

The customer service at this hotel is probably the worst I have ever experienced!

I have stayed at Le Meridien Cambridge for 10+ nights in the past 4 weeks and paid rates upto $600 per night. I would have been a repeat guest for the next 10 months. I am a Marriott Gold and prefer to stay at Marriott - not any more.

The rooms are pretty run down - bathrooms old, watermarks on the ceiling, at times smoky, face an ugly parking lot, sometimes awkward (a room that had 4 diff exit doors - yes 4!), etc. I have had to move rooms due to yelling in an adjoining room and separately a couple literally screaming at each other in the hall, as well as, strong cigar smoke. There was no response from staff until I called down. Rooms have not been ready when indicated (or even later than indicated). Room service is limited and a request for an empty place serving is $9 - no thanks. There were early morning fire alarms on 2 occasions b/c people were smoking - although the staff insists no one ever smokes in the rooms.

It's a running joke among my biotech colleagues (multiple companies and states) about just how atrocious the service and attitude is. But it doesn't matter b/c the location and Marriott name will result in high corporate occupancy regardless of service. The only person of any merit is Raj at the front desk but one person can only do so much.

I would not recommend this place to anyone especially if you plan to be a frequent guest. Your business is not valued here!

Close to MIT and easy around Cambridge

We stayed here to visit our son at MIT. This location is right behind the Random Dorm! The rooms are not huge, but are certainly luxurious! Parking here is easy, and very comfortable, overall. Little details in the room amenities make a big difference. Proximity to MIT is perfect so that, once parked, we did not need our car again for the remainder of our stay.
