How to Get There
If you intend to see ALL the sights of Boston, THIS is the place for you! Valet your car and you'll almost never need it again. You can use short Uber trips if needed but SO MUCH is walkable! Boston Common...Freedom Trail...Wharves/Financial District....Chinatown....North End....Theatre District....even the Back Bay. If you're willing to walk a little, you can do it all.
Those unwilling to pay hotel prices for meals....many budget options close....like Panera, Dunkin Donuts, PF Changs and Chinatown. Oh yes....the food trucks on work days in the Financial District!
Rooms a little bigger than normal hotel rooms which makes things more enjoyable. The staff is outstanding. Lauren at the Concierge Desk exquisite. John at the front door....but then again all the valets friendly and welcoming.
The word of caution......if you are staying on the weekend, stay away from the one end of the hotel where a Night Club exists, that attracts hundreds of patrons from 10 PM until well after 2:30am. That means rooms ending on 00-01-02-03 & 04.
On a recent visit Boston to see friends and families I decided my wife and I needed a date night out to ourselves, so we booked at the W. Shortly after booking, I received an email from the concierge asking if I was celebrating anything special. I usually ignore these as they feel like standard auto emails, but decided this time, why not reply and see what happens?
I informed the concierge I was in town visiting family, and celebrating my anniversary with my wife. I actually received a very prompt response, congratulating me on the occasion with a note saying, "I will have something special for you when you arrive."
I am a Marriott’s member, but when I checked in I was happy to find I received an upgrade! No small upgrade either, I found myself in a suite! What a fantastic surprise. To make it even better, right after entering my hotel room, in what must have been fewer than three minutes; a staff member knocked on our door and delivered a bottle of Prosecco! I as blown away at this level of effort by the staff.
The room was fantastic, the hotel is modern and sleek looking and the room was very comfortable. After our night out, my wife and I got cocktails at the bar. The bar service was great and they have a great selection of scotches (fan favorite) and other libations.
I travel all over the world for my job and I can tell you that my experience at the W was top notch! Everything was great, so much so that I am posting my first TripAdvisor review ever because I believe they deserve the praise. My only regret was that I did not order breakfast in bed; I slept in too late and had to get back out to the suburbs to visit family. Would definitely book again.
We left our car Valet for 60 bucks daily and please take Uber. Every Time you take the car parking is 25 bucks. You can pretty much Walk to Freedom Trail and see the Rich History by walking from W. Their Customer service was Awesome and they have a good DJ and a full Bar on Saturday nights. They also got Halal guys, Dunkin Donut,Pizza and a Sushi Resturant really across the street. This Hotel is a really good location and merely a 15 minute drive to Airport and Fenway Park.
