How to Get There
We stayed in August and thought it was a wonderful hotel. We stay in Boston regularly but this was the first time at the Westin. The staff were super helpful, the beds were delightful and the location is fabulous. We will definitely stay here again.
Let me be clear, there is nothing fundamentally wrong with this hotel, it does most things ok but based on value for money, it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. Staff pleasant, room nice, bar pretty good, convenient location but public toilet near the bar area was absolutely filthy to the point of being unusable and that simply is not good enough for a premium brand.
This is my second time staying at this amazing hotel. Not to much has changed since my last visit, but they are updating their elevator system which is a good thing. This hotel could benefit from a destination system like their brother Marriott hotel next door. But i digress..
Both times staying here i have been upgrade from a 2 queen room, to a 2 queen studio suite. The room is very spacious, but the bathroom a little tight. Our room had an amazing view of the charles river, which is a spectacular sight. All rooms have too many USB ports and wireless chargers (a VERY GOOD thing). The rooms were recently renovated as well (2017/18).
The staff at this Westin is AMAZING. They go out of their way to be nice and courteous to you. It is really something that marriott should look to incorporate into all of their brands! One nice touch that most marriot's have stopped doing, is thanking you for loyalty upon check-in. This hotel still does. It's a nice touch.
Amenities: As a BONVOY member i was granted access to the Club Lounge on the 5th floor. Options were better than in most properties, but for breakfast the only egg option was cheesey eggs in a croissant. While it was good and I enjoyed it, it would not be a good option for guests with allergies.
Overall this hotel CLEARLY beats the other 2 marriott properties in the area by a MILE. From the service to the rooms, i have yet to experience a better Marriott branded hotel!
