How to Get There
My daughter and I stay at the Boston Colonnade a few times a year. One of the main reasons we return is because of Norman the bellman. Norman makes us feel welcome, is kind and caring and makes us feel special every time we stay at the hotel. He remembers our names and make sure we can get to our destinations on time EVEN coming in early to work to do so. Norman goes above and beyond his duties. Unfortunately our visits are not for pleasure but for hospital visits yet we look forward to coming to Boston each time because of Norman and hIs unique way he makes us feel like we have a second home in Boston. The hotel is beautiful, comfortable and convenient. Chris the front desk manager, is extra special as well always making sure there is room in the inn for us !!
As we arrived at the Colonnade we discovered our travel agent (Thomas Cook) had collapsed. Fortunately this hotel had been paid for so we could stay. Thanks to Thomas the concierge he could confirm our hotel in Philadelphia & all our flights were also OK. Sadly he found our hotel in New York had been cancelled but with Thomas's help we managed to rebook it with our own money.
I only report this to show what a great service we got from Thomas and other members of the hotel staff.
The hotel itself is ideally situated for exploring Boston with the hop on hop off bus stopping right outside along with local buses. The subway is also right outside.
The room was very large as was the bathroom and well decorated and comfortable. All the facilities worked very well especially the 60" TV and aircon.
Although there isn't any restaurant here Thornton's a very short walk away was excellent for breakfast.
All in all a wonderful place to stay and will be where we stay next time we are in Boston.
We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Colonnade. This hotel met our expectations in all respects. The room is large - especially for Boston - and well laid out. The bathroom was small but the shower made up for it. It had great shower pressure and a nice bathtub. The bed and bedding were heavenly. The subway is right out the door. The area is great for shopping and dining. We highly recommend the Colonnade and will be back.
