How to Get There
Sign on outside said Sheraton but you come into hotel and think you are at the wrong place. Is it Marriott bonvoy or Sheraton. I waited in line to confirm location and the reception from desk staff - cold, not concerned, not customer friendly. "Here is your code for wi-fi." unprompted. But wifi is an extra charge. Zero cell service in room. Keys were an issue constantly -- not working and not putting by phones or credit cards. Over all just a tight room and tried to stay in it as little as possible.
We stayed here in February this year. The hotel is located in the Back Bay area of Boston. It is about 20 minutes from Boston Logan airport by taxi.
The hotel was clean and welcoming. The front desk staff were extremely efficient at checking us in and had great knowledge of things to do in Boston.
The room was spacious, clean and tidy with good facilities. The hotel has a good sized swimming pool. We enjoyed a couple of swims during the afternoon having walked around Boston sight seeing during the morning.
This hotel is priced very reasonably for a hotel so close to the centre of a major US city and I would definitely recommend it.
The hotel is located in Back Bay which is a short walk to the public garden, parks and the freedom trail. Clean, tidy rooms with amenable housekeeping staff. The staff could be a bit more on the ball with replenishing tea, coffee and milk but otherwise room was fine. Bell Captain was helpful depending on who was on duty but this didn’t cause us too much trouble.
We had breakfast included in our stay so ate breakfast at the hotel each day, the chef cooked us fresh omelettes, pancakes and waffles during our stay. Food was good and there was plenty of variety. We did notice that as the hotel got busier the level of service received from the waiting staff reduced dramatically. We bumped into a local rugby team from home who were on tour whilst there - such a small world we live in.
Had a great stay. Big, clean room. Hotel is enormous and very busy, lots of business travelers. Well organized common areas and loved the ‘Market’ for grabbing a quick snack. Would definitely stay here again.
The pros of this hotel: location is great for tourism and convention and shopping. It is a huge hotel which I don't prefer because they cater to the conventioneers not tourists. The gym is decent and the pool has a retractable roof which was nice.
Cons: thin walls. I feel like this is a recurring theme with hotels. When the alarm in the room next door goes off I shouldn't hear it. When the bachelorette party gets home at 3am and talks until 5am I shouldn't hear it. But I do, every word. Not sure what the Sheraton can do but scape it and rebuild it. Next: bathrooms. We had a suite with the whole family and the bathroom was so small you could barely close the door and get your body behind the door in the room. Totally un updated and needs a remodel. I think I was in the new tower.
I think I'd try the Westin down the street next time to see if it could get better.
