How to Get There
I had reservation made in August 2018 for April 2019. I had 2 confirmed emails, and 3 messages via phone. Upon arrival they stated they were oversold, but I could get a room with one bed and cot, for my stay. I told them no way am I sleeping on a cot and getting up and run 26.2 miles in the Boston Marathon! I also had confirmed paperwork for late check out, they stated, they needed me out by noon. I pointed out all access roads are shutting down, so no way will anyone be arriving at that time. After the race I returned to the Hotel and they locked me out of my room. They needed my ID, which was in the room. I spent over a hour, wet, cold and sore from running at the front desk, trying to get in my room to shower and leave. The location of this hotel is excellent, the rooms are clean, and valet parking was great. The front desk were the absolute worst, and feel like they all could use some retraining.
I have not actually had the opportunity to stay at this hotel yet but already have concerns about their customer service. I reserved 5 rooms for an upcoming conference for myself and coworkers. I called to double check my reservation and see about moving rooms into coworkers names. They told me just to wait until check in to make the changes. Now they have emailed me and changed my reservations to king rooms instead of double rooms as I had reserved due to only one name on the reservation. They have offered to add roll away beds but this is a poor solution to a problem that never should have happened in the first place. They are trying to fill every room in their hotel and passing this problem onto the customer. The most frustrating part is when they offered to add roll away beds they said they would do it at no charge, as if they were doing me a favor.
The Sheraton Boston Hotel presented my family and myself an comfortable stay. The staff was comforting, rooms were spacious and breakfast was filling. Situated in the back bay area made it easier for us to see all the tourist areas. In addition, it is only a 15 minute drive from Harvard which is where I was attending a competition. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this hotel for your trip to Boston.
Being in the heart of Boston, it wasn't cheap to stay or park in Sheraton. That would not have stung as much if the room were comfortable and nice. Everything about the place looks dated and tired. It really needs renovation. That said, anything negative is offset by the staff's great attitude. Whether it was parking attendant, bellman, concierge or front desk, everyone I encountered were more than happy to answer my questions and help. I held my luggage after checking out since I had more meetings planned in Boston. They were more than accommodating. I was given great directions to navigate around the city. With close proximity to restaurants and shopping and right off the highway, it's at the prime Boston location.
I stayed here because of a company event.
Although ideal for the event I felt that the hotel was too far from the main tourist areas which is why i think it’s ok for a business stay.
The rooms are comfortable but feel a big on the dated side to other hotels I have stayed at. My room was in the north tower and looked inwards so the view wasn’t anything special.
The gym & pool did make up for any dated decor and all the staff were friendly & helpful.
This is a typical Sheraton hotel - you know what you’re going to get but it’s not the most exciting place I have stayed in.
