How to Get There
I visited the Courtyard Marriott with my girlfriend and her family during a wedding stay in Boston. The hotel is extremely close to Cambridge and is an easy walk away. It also had great breakfast and staff service. We received an upgrade our final night from the kind front desk staff. Thanks Sandra Padilla for your help!
I've written about this hotel before so wanted to make sure I give another shout out to the fantastic staff! Dali greeted me when I arrived and Judit was kind enough to check me out, and as always, they made me feel like part of their family (yes, even Joel, Brahim, and Sandra...). The reason I spend 50+ nights a year at this location has everything to do with how I'm treated at all times and the fact that I can depend on a spotless room. The entire staff are true professionals in every sense of the word, so I'd recommend visiting them next time you're up in the Boston/Cambridge area.
great location, wonderful view.
Walking distance to MIT and Harvard.
Besides these, I want to recommend the front dest--Brahim. He is very nice. He gave me advice on where to eat nearby and complimentary free parking ($45)
Total lack of respect towards the guest and dishonesty on the bill.
They sent housekeeping to clean the room and take my stuff out (despite the « do not disturb » sign) because I hadn’t done check-out the day BEFORE my check-out. They said booking sometimes does not inform properly the dates of reservations and that the hotel was fully booked so I had to see if I could make a new reservation just for that last night, even when my reservation confirmation from booking had the correct dates.
They told me they could give me a room but on a new rate, which was more expensive than that originally booked in my confirmation through booking, then the lady told me they could maintain the rate. However, at check-out they overcharged with the higher rate; when I expressed that was not correct, they said it was « taxes » but the booking confirmation states taxes are included. They said they had already charged it to my credit card and that it was the correct rate in their system.
On top of everything they tell me the manager is new and is soooo stressed out that they didn’t want to bother him with this.
Brahim on the reception desk, however, was very nice and helpful when we arrived.
Was there for a business trip. Unfortunately, the hotel was not booked by me. Not much to do around the area if you intend to sight see. A 20 - 25 minute walking distance to Boston University and the same distance to the trains. From there, the trains can pretty much take you anywhere.
