How to Get There
The hotel was ok but needs a lot of improvements. It’s fairly clean but definitely needs updating. Location was good for a weekend in the city. My major complaint is with the staff. I was traveling with my husband and 3 kids. We booked 2 rooms and requested joining rooms. When we checked in the lady at the reception was not accommodating. She said the were sold out and there not any more joining rooms. I explained to her that we had 3 kids and that it was important for us to be together. She replied with an attitude saying there is nothing she can do because they are sold out. Her tone and demeanor was like she wanted to say that me having 3 kids is not her problem. I could care less how she feels about families, but as a customer paying for 2 rooms and requesting joining rooms it is my right to have that. My other complaint is with check out. We have the Elite SPG member status which as a benefit should give us upgraded rooms and/or a late check out. We definitely didn’t get an upgraded room (weren’t even given what we paid for), we thought at least a late check time wouldn’t be a problem. Well we were wrong. The reception refused to give us a late check out even after we spoke to the manager. I have stayed in Marriott hotels all over the world and have never experienced that. So overall the hotel is a little dated but ok, but the staff’s attitude is unacceptable. I will never return.
I stayed at this location August 2019. The hotel is in a fantastic location within walking distance to many attractions including Fenway Park. The hotel is large and is attached to a large shopping mall complex. Self parking is $40 in the attached garage. The check in process is slow but it is a large hotel with many guests arriving at the same time. I was inside my room by 1:30pm on a Friday. The only negative issue I had with my stay is the very small bathroom. The room itself was comfortable and the hotel for its size was quiet during the overnight. The hotel should include Starbucks with their charge to room service as its location is adjacent to the hotel restaurant Champions. I noticed many guests returning the elevators to get cash or credit cards (inconvenience). I used the hotel room service for breakfast and the food was delivered in paper bags lacking the presentation with a roll in cart. The room service breakfast was delivered at the time we requested and the food was good. Overall, I would stay here again.
Perhaps the worst customer service we have received in over 30 years of travelling. Definitely not the hotel to stay at
If you are expecting to be treated with any type of courtesy or professional manners. From having to pay daily for wifi to the complete lack of interest by the front desk staff (one particular woman needs to think about changing her profession as she completely lacks compassion and treated us impatience and incorrect vital information) to the inability to receive a print out of our bill during check out. We needed a receipt for our hotel stay for insurance reasons as we were in Boston for a hospital visit. The woman at check out refused to print me a receipt. It took me three attempts with me repeatedly asking for the Manager on duty (who never appeared) to final get a copy of my own bill! Why on earth she refused to print it I dont know. At first she said she physically could not do it but finally after I had to get extremely irrate with her. She printed the one page that I needed to claim on our insurance. Absolutely ridiculous. With all the amazing hotels in Boston - there is no good reason to stay at the Boston Marriott Copley.
