We were in town visiting my son. The Royal Sonesta was a very nice property and you could not have asked for a better location to all the inner harbor activities. The room was very confortable and the hotel staff was accomidating. When in town again we will stay here again.
I tried my best to buy a condominium attached to the Royal Sonesta because of the ambience of the hotel and condo property. If you visit, you'll notice the glory both properties contribute immediately. Now that I rent a nearby apartment, I frequent the restaurant and just joined the fitness center that is open to locals to join. This property deserves a much higher profile.
I hope management decides to market the restaurant to locals, especially the neighboring properties; hold special events, offer discounts, special entrees, etc. The food is always great, the honey wings use honey produced onsite I'm told. The steak, crab even deviled eggs are great. Service would be better if busier. Ask for Melissa; she is always ready and caring.
My wife and I recently had the immense pleasure of having dinner and staying overnight at the Royal Sonesta. This has become an annual event which we look forward to every Thanksgiving. Although we’d had a wonderful experience each and every time, we felt we had to report that this stay was exceptional, to say the least.
The concierge, Jonathan Knox, made sure our visit was memorable by attending to every detail. We can’t begin to thank him for all he did for us. He is truly an asset to the Royal Sonesta. We’ve traveled extensively over the years and would find it hard to remember anyone coming close to his level of service.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal in the restaurant and were very thankful that Gregory was able to accommodate us and prepare a vegetarian meal. The wait staff (Ericka and Maria) made us feel welcomed and provided excellent service.
The accommodation and service at the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court are truly award winning.
When I lived in Baltimore from 1988 to 1993, Harbor Court was the talk of the town. It was a luxury hotel the likes of which the city had never seen. I dined, and attended a business and a family event there.
The hotel is now the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court, and I spent a Thanksgiving week vacation there. The property was restored in an $11 million renovation during 2015, and the process was an unequivocal success. The hotel is first class in every aspect, elegant and quiet with fine finishes.
The lobby is understated, more specifically the bland side of understated, but elegant nonetheless. My room was spacious and tasteful with very comfortable bedding but perhaps also just a touch too understated. The bathroom was a luxurious retreat. The restaurant, ballrooms and other public areas were exquisitely designed and furnished. The hotel’s employees are cordial and service oriented.
The only negative to my stay was the breakfast buffet at Explorers, the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court’s restaurant. The scrambled eggs were cold, and the sausage links were dried out and devoid of any taste.
I have not stayed at the Four Seasons or the Inn at Henderson’s Wharf, the newer properties vying for Baltimore’s luxury hotel crown. Nevertheless, I do know that the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court is a strong contender for that honor.
