Home Away From Home

My husband and I are regulars at Rachael’s Dowry. Linda is the perfect hostess and creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere. If you’re looking for a beautiful place to stay with scrumptious food, this B&B is it!

What a wonderful trip to Baltimore. From the moment we walked through the door, Linda was the perfect host, telling us the history of the house (you know George and Martha Washington stayed there) and tips on the area and restaurants. The highlight was her breakfast, especially her French toast. You will not find a better place to stay in Baltimore and you’re so close to everything. We went up to see a Ravens game, as did everyone else who stayed Sunday night and even enjoyed meeting Dave from “across the pond” who unfortunately was a Steelers fan – but we loved him just the same. Baltimore is definitely the charmed city, the people were so friendly, the area safe and clean and our stay at Rachael’s was the icing on the cake! Thank you Linda for your hospitality. We will be back!

An absolute delight

What can I say about Rachael's Dowry that hadn't already been said about this wonderful place in previous reviews!?
Linda is the perfect host and makes you feel immediately at home in the beautiful historic building.
Breakfast is a culinary delight and everyone staying there soon becomes friends and chatting to one another... even when I was the only Steelers fan in the place surrounded by Ravens fans before the game...much fun was had and hugs were exchanged after the game.
The decor, rooms, amenities, etc are all superb, and everything made even that much better by the care and attention from Linda.
Highly recommended.

Charming, Historical Inn steps from Camden Yards
Reviewed 1 month ago

We were in town for a ball game at Camden Yards but decided to stay at Rachael's Dowry rather than at one of the chain hotels. So glad we did.

The Inn has a wonderful history -- legend has it that Geo. Washington slept there although the evidence apparently is only circumstantial. We stayed in the Randolph Room on the 3rd Floor; a lot of steps to climb, but worth it. Decorated beautifully. There's both a ceiling fan over the bed, as well as AC; important during the summer in Baltimore.

The bathroom is a bit cramped and basic -- not unusual in historical B&Bs -- but absolutely clean and sufficient.

The location is fabulous -- not just because its steps from Camden Yards but also because it is set on a charming street of historic rowhouses, with so much more charm than staying over by the Convention Center.

We so enjoyed our stay at Rachael's Dowry. Linda, greeted us with such warmth you feel like you are visiting family! Linda filled us in on the history of the home which was very interesting. I feel places such as this enriches our travels. When I asked if there was a grocery nearby she asked what I needed and when I told her she said look in the refrigerator located upstairs and it will be in there for you. Sure enough an hour or so later I looked and there was a card with my name on it with the requested items. How nice. We had a room on the top floor. There are quite a few steps which we did not mind, however some guests might. The bed was very comfortable with quality bedding. Great night sleep. The room and bathroom was so charming and very clean. The breakfast was delicious and she is very careful and asks you for any dietary needs. When it was our check out day we still wanted to explore the city. She allowed us to put our bags aside downstairs. We came back for them later in the day. It is an easy walk to the harbor with many restaurants and stores to enjoy which we did! Thank you Linda! We so enjoyed your home and meeting you. Hope to see you again soon!
