How to Get There
I expected more from a Hyatt Regency (given the room rates) and would not stay here again. Rooms are average -- hotel is just a bit tired. Staff also seems tired. Parking garage is a mess and quite expensive.
The location is decent though, right near the Inner Harbor and a reasonable (say 10 minutes) walk to Camden Yards.
On the morning of checkout two of the four elevators were not working such that you could get on but the elevator would not stop at your selected floor but rather only stop to let passengers on. And the front desk crew knew this but did not put up a sign or maybe even have a person explaining to guests that two elevators did not work---but they didn't. I guess it was easier for them to watch guests ride up and down the elevators hoping it would stop on their floor.
And finally they have an American flag and Maryland flag hanging outside the front ---both are filthy dirty but similar to the rest of the property ----no one seems to care.
We paid for a King bed on an upper floor (6-11). When we checked in today, they gave us a room on the 5th floor. When we addressed the issue, we were informed that there were no longer King beds available on the higher floors and we would have to get a Queen. Isn’t the whole point of making a reservation to ensure that you’ll get the room you picked and paid for? ...then when we got to our room, the key didn’t work.
But the room was clean.
The room is got had a harbor view which was the best part of all. Since we had a room with two beds (which are on the smaller side) the room itself was cramped with 2 kids. I know they are all traditional sizes I'm sure, but still felt cramped for us. Not that we spent alot of time in the room because it's just a skywalk away to boardwalk!!
This was our second stay and we will return again!!
The hotel is as expected, clean with good food bar, but the staff is very customer service oriented. Also the 24h Starbucks, with quick meals save time, internet was good too, I’d stay again. Also it is connected to the convention center, so you can almost stay inside all the way if its raining out.
I have stayed at many Hyatt's all over the country which is why my family always prefers Hyatt's to the others. All seemed fine till we arrived to the room. We quickly noticed the sink had a constant leak and the bathroom was less than ideally clean. My daughter noticed hair on the ceiling - leading me to believe a single rag/towel was used to clean everything. The shower still had soap for prior visitors. Location was ideal but ultimately we are paying more than the average hotel and don't expect perfection but expect something better from the Hyatt.
