A pool-view room at a luxurious five-star hotel with views of the Atlas Mountains - includes breakfast
Set among 10 acres of beautiful gardens just south of Marrakech's bustling Medina, the five-star Kenzi Menara Palace lets you have your cake and eat it, too. Within walking distance of the bustle of Jamaa el Fna Square and close to the botanical Agdal gardens, this luxury retreat is a peaceful haven in Morocco's whirlwind capital.
Dotted with shady palms and chic white parasols, the hotel's grounds also boast two large swimming pools. Inside, there's a spa with a hammam (Turkish bath), indoor pool, sauna and individual treatment rooms, plus three restaurants and spacious rooms, with Moorish tadelakt bathrooms and views of the Atlas mountains from many.
The rooms are generously sized (each is a minimum of 592 square feet) and traditionally styled in spice hues and dark wood. Deluxe Pool View rooms feature a sitting area and overlook the Olympic-sized swimming pool and the looming Atlas Mountains.
There are three restaurants at the hotel. Saoussane is distinctively Moroccan, with alcoves, lanterns, an ornate fireplace and opulent low seating. L'Orientaliste serves little tapas dishes with cocktails and commands panoramic views of the Atlas mountains and the pool. Specialty restaurant Insensé is a romantic spot with serene views and a sophisticated menu of Southern French fare.
The luxurious spa features six individual treatment rooms, two Balneotherapy rooms, a mixed sauna, indoor pool and single-sex hammam-Turkish baths. There's also a relaxation room, where you can wind down with an herbal tea after a treatment, plus a gym and hair salon.
The hotel is located in Agdal, south of the Medina. The Royal Palace and botanical Agdal gardens are just a few streets away, as well as the Menara gardens, and there are a number of golf courses in the area, too. Around 10 minutes from this green part of the city, you'll find the Old Town – the hub of the action – where you can shop spices and curios at Jamaa el Fna Square.
