How to Get There
We had a great time at Kaiss. After staying in less salubrious accommodation earlier in our trip it was great to relax in a truly lovely environment. Unlike other places in the Medina, they served alcohol and we spent a couple of great evenings on the rooftop terrace and ate a meal up there one evening. The food was fantastic and the staff could not have been more helpful and service-oriented. This is one of the nicest places you could hope for in the old town of Marrakesh.
I came across this gem in December 2018 The location is perfect to explore and peaceful enough to relax after a busy day. The Riad it’s self is beautifully finished ! I would definitely recommend This Riad. The friendly staff specially Leane.
I’m Sad to leave
I sit at the airport, headed back to Canada, reminiscing about the fabulous and fascinating experiences I just enjoyed in Marrakech....and it’s noteworthy to recognize that each one stems from the amazing service provided by the friendly & knowledgeable staff at Riad Kiass. From recommendations to scrumptious restaurants in the Médina, to fun and adventurous local activities (such as a stunningly beautiful hot-air balloon ride & full day quad tour) booked with ease through the reception staff, to facilitating our explorations safely & comfortably (staff walked us to & from dinner each night, transported our bags through the busy Médina streets, helped locate drivers & the host staff at restaurants, & even provided a cellphone for our use in case we got lost & needed help!), the meticulous attention to detail to ensure our stay was amazing is what sets this Riad far above the rest!
I honestly cannot say enough good things about the staff onsite! Each is extremely polite, friendly, helpful & well versed in various languages. They are eager to share their knowledge of their beautiful city and ensure that each guest has an amazing stay! Service was incredibly efficient - from assisting us in booking daily reservations, to offering laundry services, to individualizing our complimentary breakfast to suit our dietary requests, to providing service of delectable treats (homemade cookies, tea & coffee, wine & beers, olives, etc.) to any of the cozy and comfortable alcoves within this historical home - really, who doesn’t love chilled wine served poolside in the afternoon sun, after a busy day bartering with shopkeepers in the souk?!
We send our thanks to all staff whom made our staff so exceptionally enjoyable! Everyday we were pleasantly surprised when they continued to go above and beyond - particularly upon our departure when we were handed our already completed departure cards, a homemade lunch for the road, and a small gift of local goods!! Thank you for making our trip so incredibly memorable 😊💕
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed Riad Kaiss during our four night day in Marrakech in November 2018. The riad offers tranquility from the hustle and bustle of the medina. The location is perfect, with most sites only being a few minutes away via foot or taxi. The rooms are spacious, clean, and offer everything for a very pleasant stay.
The management goes a step beyond other properties that I've stayed at in offering first class service. They simply can't do enough for their guests. In fact, they even escorted us to dinner one night, just to make sure we arrived safely. What a nice touch. In addition, the management gives all guests a cell phone to use in case guests get lost while they're in the medina. Talk about peace of mind.
You won't be disappointed if you stay at Riad Kaiss.
Folks, this is unquestionably *the best* riad in Marrakesh. You can keep reading reviews but if you don't read any more, suffice from this first sentence you will not be disappointed with Riad Kaiss.
Here's more in detail...We were warmly treated from the second we arrived. The riad is first-class the entire way - it's beautifully appointed and you truly feel like you're at home during your stay. The staff is entirely committed to making sure you feel comfortable and well cared for: if you dream it they will do it. In fact, they even give you a hotel Android phone with maps and contact numbers which includes the hotel, the managers and even the owner should you need anything at all. (Instagram is also pre-loaded, a wise move!)
Room and facilities: from the courtyard to the room to the multiple terraces from which you can take any meal, have your camera ready. It's best described as a work of art. There's a pool, fireplaces, a salon and an absolutely beautiful hammam room to discover.
Hammam: we did the hammam (traditional Moroccan bath) followed by a couples massage. For the full two hours we were scrubbed, rubbed and cleaned by skilled staff who attended to us like royalty. It is a must-do during your stay.
Staff: there's no praise high enough for their attention. Leann, the hotel manager - originally from New Zealand - started with a full map orientation of the city including things to be aware of. She even walked us to dinner one night to continue a conversation we were having! Her staff is incredibly devoted to their work and it shows in their attention to the smallest details. It was great getting to know all of them. If it comes down to the small things consider this: they even filled out our immigration cards before we checked out to go to their airport AND packed small sandwiches in case we didn't have a chance to eat before departure. Of all the hotels we've stayed in across the world, Riad Kaiss perhaps has the service of anywhere.
Sure there are many riads to consider for your holiday but I would recommend this one in a second. I simply could not imagine a better stay and hope we can visit Leann and her staff soon.
PS - The riad has several tortoises that roam the courtyard. Keep your eyes out for Couscous!
