Our Wonderful Oasis
Reviewed 5 days ago

I travelled, as one of a party of five ladies, to spend three nights here at Riad Dar One last week. Nothing was too much trouble and Jean patiently answered all of our many questions. The Riad has six rooms and so that we could enjoy the property exclusively, we paid for a sixth (and spare) room which worked brilliantly for us. If this is something you can do I'd definitely recommend it. It felt so special to have it all to ourselves. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and Jean talked to us about our ideas and plans and came up with suggestions - oh if only we'd listened to them all and not gone 'off piste' one day! The riad is beautiful, a little oasis of calm amongst the hecticness of the medina. The riad is expertly run and the team have been with Jean for many years - and it shows. It is spotlessly clean and every room to the same very high standard. I was very lucky to have the rooftop room (shower) which was wonderful. Breakfast was delicious; fruit salad, freshly squeezed orange juice, breads, pancakes, hardboiled eggs etc. We also chose to eat in three times during our trip - two evening meals and a lunch up on the roof terrace. Nothing was too much trouble for the team at Riad Dar One from before we even arrived until we reached home. This is hospitality at its best and it is very good value too. We felt so lucky to have stayed here and have no hesitation in recommending Riad Dar One for couples or like us, a group of people staying exclusively. Bon Vacances!

Would visit again!

We stayed at Riad Dar One for five days in December. We really enjoyed the stay. The location was excellent - very easy to tell a cab driver to drop you near the palace. The breakfast was yummy! The rooftop was lovely though a bit deserted, perhaps because it was December. We did have the heat on at night, which really helped as it got a bit chilly in the evenings. I was concerned about being cold but it was not at all a problem. Overall, we felt the hospitality was excellent. The pricing was great as well. My only complaint would be that I found our room to be a bit dim. Other than that it was pretty perfect!

Authentic Luxury
Reviewed 4 weeks ago

It felt authentic, yet luxurious, and that is often hard to find. There are only 6 rooms, but that makes for a very attentive staff. Khalid has been one of the best hosts that we have ever had. We have stayed in 5 star hotels before, but Khalid has shown more kindness, hospitality, and overall happiness than those places. A definite must for your staff in Marrakech!

ALWAYS book this place

Marrakech is beguiling and confusing all at once. You need a safe haven from the craziness. If you stay here, everything is catered for: the location is perfect for ambling around the markets, seeing the sights and getting to and from the airport. Then the breakfast is just the ticket to set you up for facing all of that. Dinner is superb, service is superb, rooms are clean, contemporary and well-decorated. The terrace is perfect for an afternoon laze. To top it all off, every single member of staff greet you with a beaming smile and instantly you feel welcome and happy. What more do you need for a fantastic holiday?!

We are driving home from the airport and I couldn’t wait to write a review! Cannot say more about riad dar one, we have stayed in a lot of hotels in our time and never had such exceptional service completely through our stay!! Every staff member couldn’t do enough for you! The managers are excellent from the second you arrive recommending the best places to go and making sure every day everything is okay ! The owner was also so so lovely and personal in making sure all requests I made before I arrived were made. It was my fiancé’s birthday and so on the morning they organised a birthday cake with candles to come out at breakfast! We also ate dinner at the riad the night of his birthday and they set up a gorgeous setting around the fire and the spread of food made by there excellent cook was gorgeous! Breakfast every morning to a high standard and set up and waiting for you to arrive !! We didn’t fall in love with Marrakesh in itself but would without a doubt return to Marrakesh just to this lovely haven of a hotel just to relax ! Top hotels in London wouldn’t be able to give half the service we had here. Defo book and don’t look around anywhere else as I don’t think you could get any better anywhere in the world for class and service!!!!
