How to Get There
Good location in the old Marrakesh medina close to souks and easy walk to central square for restaurants and street entertainment. But amazingly secluded and peaceful as well. Riad interior is lovely and nice balance of tradition and contemporary boutique and relaxed, informal atmosphere with well fitted bathrooms, large rooms, comfy beds, WiFi and good air conditioning. Ours had a private balcony off room with seating for two and table. We also had our own private roof terrace with sun loungers, cloakroom and hot tub via private staircase.
The hotel manager, Stefania, is lovely and greets everyone personally and super helpful for advice on excursions with trusted operators. The same is true for all her hotel team and a great mix of genders and nationalities which reflects the more liberal Moroccan society compared to other countries in North Africa and Middle East. Everyone is so helpful and friendly but fully professional despite the more informal approach and nicely unobtrusive until you need them when they magically appear 🙂.
Tasty and fresh continental breakfast in one of the two courtyards. The restaurant is open in the evening for dinner either on roof terrace or in courtyard. Delicious Moroccan dishes and superb quality. One of the best dining options in entire city.
A great choice to stay in this vibrant, ancient city. Fully recommend Riad 72 for a great mix of casual and small luxury hotel.
Ps. No TVs in hotel rooms so you can truly take a peaceful break! My only suggestion to be even better is to have a small fridge in the room so you can keep drinks and snacks cold.
Opening the door of the riad I didn’t know what to expect but as soon as we stepped into the cool, bright, stylist courtyard and we’re given fresh wet towels and mint tea I knew we were in safe hands. Stefani and the whole team are so friendly and helpful. The room was perfect- great size, well styled and efficient aircon. The roof top is great for some sundowners and we had a delicious dinner. Breakfast was also exactly what we wanted; fresh fruit, yogurt, breads, pancakes and im sure they would prepare whatever you want.
The Riad is well located and I’d have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
This place is perfect for solos, couples and families. It creates a wonderful setting in which you can sit down, relax and read a book.
The food is amazing, typical from Marocco. The breakfast is very varied and house made to make sure that the taste is not lost.
Hope to have the pleasure to come back.
We had an amazing stay at the beautiful Riad 72. The Riad is in the heart of the colourful Medina. The people was very kind and welcoming. We will surely recommend the Tajine lamb! (Remember to order in advance)
We stayed here for three nights in June. it was our first visit to Morocco. Wow what a hotel! Romantic, authentic and very very classy!. The staff couldn't have done enough. They are super helpful and polite and nearly all speak enough English to get by with. The breakfast is truly amazing sitting in that courtyard is like being in another world. The rooms are all individual and beautiful. I really cant say enough about what a great place this is to stay at.
