Magical Experience
TomC_Toronto

I’ve travelled extensively and stayed at many 5 star hotels. Without a doubt, Riad 72 has been the most magical hotel experiences of my life!

Hidden behind a heavy wood door, down a narrow alleyway in the Medina (safe any time of day) is an architecturally stunning riad spread on multiple levels around an open courtyard – sculpted archways, tile work, and fountains – straight out of Architectural Digest. The rooms are air conditioned and tastefully decorated with Moroccan carpets and artifacts. The main dining room off the central courtyard is breathtaking and the rooftop bar/patio offers stunning views over the Medina.

Food and service are truly exceptional – breakfasts are substantial and the three evening meals that we enjoyed over our extended stay were top notch and worthy of a Michelin star. Stefania Conte (the onsite manager) has assembled an A-team – a special callout to Ayoub, Aziz, Ahmeds 1 and 2, Asma, and Abdul, who always met us with a smile and made our stay truly memorable.

The riad has acquired a huge adjoining property and construction is underway on an oversized swimming pool and a second dining venue (open to outside patrons), while retaining the intimate feel that comes from having just 13 rooms. It’s set for completion in spring of 2020.

I can’t wait to return.

Loved our stay at Riad 72

My friends and I stayed at Riad 72 for 5 amazing nights. We could not have asked for better accommodations in Marrakech. The staff was so nice and helpful. The riad itself was beautiful. The rooms were perfect. We loved our breakfast (which was included) every morning -- fresh breads, eggs, yogurt and fruit. We also took advantage of the riad's hammam (highly recommend). And we had dinner at La Table du Riad, which is the riad's farm to table restaurant (highly recommend). The food was so fresh and perfectly cooked.

Brief But Lovely Marrakech Stay

72 Riad was just what we needed after a pretty stressful drive from Essaouira into Marrakech (flat tyre & speeding fine). As soon as I walked through the doors into the riad I felt the calm and luxury surround me. The courtyards are stunning, and the roof terrace tops it all off (literally) with fantastic views over the city towards the Atlas mountains. I was just sorry I didn't have longer to spend on the sun loungers that looked extremely comfortable! As it was, we enjoyed a hammam, the roof top bar, and then had a delicious meal in the restaurant. We had to leave the next morning for the mountains, but I would definitely like to spend longer there next time!
