What We Love

  • Rate includes ground airport transfers, free WiFi, daily breakfast (of a Moroccan or international menu) and VAT
  • Sprawling olive grove gardens romantically lit by lanterns at night
  • The exotic, traditional-meets-contemporary architecture and design of the property by Thierry Isnardon
  • A long slate-blue swimming pool framed by palm trees
  • Ten independent bungalows, complete with four-poster beds, fireplaces and roll-top baths with views of the garden
  • There’s no spa or hammam, but in-room and alfresco beauty and massage treatments are available

What To Know

  • For guests who book three nights or more, the rate includes one return transfer from the city center
  • Top-level golf is one of the big draws of Les Cinq Djellabas, but it’s not on the doorstep — guests have access to five courses (ranging from 18 to 24 holes) located 20 to 45 minutes away by car
  • Better suited to couples looking to escape from reality for a few days than families with kids
  • Being outside the Palmeraie proper, you are somewhat isolated, so you’ll need to rent a car or rely on local taxi or car services to get around
  • Top-flight cooking combines traditional Moroccan dishes with lighter European options, but the menu is fairly small

Amenities

Incredible place

It is by far the most beautiful hotel we have seen in a long time! Love all the details!
Our villa was very nice and we loved that we could have breakfast outside in the morning. We really enjoyed the pool and the restaurant was delicious. We will be back!

Lovely relaxing place

This Hotel is ca. 30 Minutes away from Marrakech. There is nothing around to do. We came after traveling around Morocco, for our last 3 days to relax. For this it was perfect. The pool area is just amazing.
It's very quiet during the day. In the night you can hear sometimes the Music from the other Hotel close by, but it depends on the wind and it stops around 11 in the night.
I found it a bit odd that you had to always preorder your food. Somebody will come to the pool with the lunch or dinner menu and you have to tell them a few hours in advance what you would like to eat.
What I really liked was that you could eat wherever you wanted. We usually had breakfast on our terrace, lunch at the pool and dinner in the restaurant. The food is for Morocco very pricy but good. If you stay longer than 3 days, it could get a bit boring, as they don't have a big variety of food.
The stuff is super friendly, but I had the feeling that there is a bit of management missing.
The rooms are a bit dated but clean and ok.

Not what I expected

It all started well when arriving in this lively surroundings however it became clear that it wasn’t as I expected.

When we arrived the hotel animation from the next hotel was incredibly disturbing.
The Who reason we came here was to avoid such noise.

The rooms are nice but full - and I mean full of mosquitoes with no way of dealing with them on Offer. No plugs ect to avoid nights of being eaten.

Also the fact that you have to order lunch and dinner many hours in advance is a little annoying for such I high priced hotel plus the menu never changes.

On the positive side, the pool area is wonderful to hang out at and the staff in general are super nice however they don’t come around the pool and you have to go find them if you want anything like a drink.
This hotel usually has around 6-8 guests so we expected perhaps they would ask occasionally if we wanted something.

Last night there was a party next door until 5am so sleep is hard here unless in the day at the pool where it’s fine.

The rest is fight between next door hotels music and mosquitoes

This was exactly what we were looking for – a bungalow to ourselves, poolside sunshine, great food and wonderful staff who are attentive when you need them and leave you completely in peace the rest of the time.
The place is structured around a main hotel building, the poolside with lounge and then bungalows spread out round the grounds so you get your own space and peace.
Bungalow doesn't really do them justice – very nice spacious outhouses with everything you need inside. You can take breakfast in the dining room, inside our outside your bungalow.
You can be on the edge of the medina by car in 20minutes. Budget in some money for taxis and you'll be appreciating visiting the town and then going back to tranquility after.
Special mention to Hafid who really looked after us during our stay and helped me make some plans for a special occasion.
Superb.

Hidden gem

The place definitely deserves to be called a boutique, it only has 10 huts/bungalows nestled around a sizable olive garden with a large beautiful pool. Everything looks fresh and very well designed. But true beauty of this place (and the reason I’ve decided to write this review) is in its staff. They are friendly yet respectful, well-trained, speak good English and always try to accommodate any request - quite easily the best level of service we had in Marrakech so far. I’d agree with one of the previous comments that the mattresses and pillows could be improved, but for this price it’s a excellent overall value for money.
