How to Get There
Had a fantastic 3 night stay in this immaculately looked after hotel. As in previous reviews we would agree about its excellent location and it being an oasis of tranquilly right next to the vibrant Jemaa el-fna square.
We found the buffet breakfast to be plentiful with a good choice.
But the thing that really stood out was the amazing service and support from all the staff - nothing was too much trouble and done with a smile - we had an early flight home and they provided some breakfast before the normal opening time. They really went out of their way to make you feel welcome.
Will definitely go back one day and would recommend Art Place to anyone who wants to stay in the heart of the medina.
One tip is if you have an early arrival time and departure time then your taxi will be able to access the hotel across Jemaa el-fna square without problems as its reasonably quiet - if you are arriving mid afternoon onwards would suggest using the hotels shuttle service from the airport as the square gets very busy and not so easy to access.
The location on Place Jemma al Fna is very convenient: in the medina, but close to the main roads. Despite the chaos of the Place, especially at night, the hotel is very quiet - we could not even hear the call to prayer, which is extremely loud on the square. The interior of the hotel is beautiful, with fabulous tilework, archways and potted plants. The rooftop pool was lovely, and they also have fitness centre (which we did not use). Breakfast on the roof terrace was normal hotel breakfast buffet fare - perfectly fine but nothing amazing. We did not try the restaurant. The room was large and comfortable with all the necessary amenities, but note that Moroccan hotels do not provide hair conditioner, only shampoo.
Note that taxis generally cannot enter the medina. If you arrange your airport transfers through the hotel, they can do door-to-door service; other taxis will drop you about one block away from the Place, and you can walk from there.
A beautifully kept Hotel / Ryad right in the centre of Marrakech. Thought it might be noisy when we turned up but you step through the golden door into an amazing little Oasis. Staff were very helpful and attentive, with lots of advice on how to get the best, or avoid the worst, of Marrakech. Breakfast on the balcony was an amazing start to each day, we’d spend the rest of the day out and about only to come back and enjoy the roof terrace with it’s little swimming pool. Could not fault the place.
