How to Get There
Since the moment I decided that I want to return to Marrakech after 20 years, I knew that the only room I wanted to book was the White Suite in Dar Seven.
I had seen photos since the day it opened and I loved the way it looked and the atmosphere it had.
I wanted to stay in a riad and not in a hotel, and I wanted a big spacious room very elegant and very tasteful.
The booking experience was impeccable with the hotel manager Beatrice Ziello, as was all the communication by email and over the phone.
Upon arrival at the point where the car left us, a 5 minute walk from the riad, we were greeted with a warm welcome by Ahmed and Illyas.
They collected our luggage and escorted us to the riad.
The check in was lovely and we were soon taken into our rooms.
We had booked the White Room and the Loggia Suite for 4 nights.
Dar Seven in Beautifully made, with very tasteful and thoughtful details, in all the rooms and throughout the riad, the colour palette of white, ivory, beige, caramel, black and the natural materials and different textures and finishes create a very relaxing, soothing, and very elegant feel.
Beautiful objects thoughtfully placed, beautiful scented orange blossom candles.
It is very quiet, the only “noise” was the birds songs.
The service and the staff of 4 were all so very kind and helpful and discreet and charming and lovely.
They all are a very important part of the beauty of Dar Seven.
It was wonderful returning every time to Dar Seven from the craziness and the chaos of the medina, and entering our little place of haven.
After 12 years, the effect of time and the tiredness are obvious throughout Dar seven, but it still is a very beautiful place to stay in Marrakech.
when you arrive you are greeted in the street by wonderful Acmed. (Hotel can only be accessed by foot path) The walk to hotel on the narrow path , you really get an instant feel for the bustle and hustle of Marrakesh: donkeys pulling carts, mopeds, many cats, and children playing . Once behind the door of Dar Seven, you are greeting with delicious almond cookies and mint tea. Hotel is beautifully managed and decorated- classically understated and bright. We stayed in a wonderful room on the second floor with sitting area looking down. Our bed was comfortable with excellent sheets and amenities. At night they light candles all around the hotel including your room, which looks especially beautiful. Although we never had dinner there( wish we did), the breakfast is so good: fruit, Moroccan crepes(delish), eggs, breads etc,,, When we left for the day, we were given a local cell phone and were told to call when we wanted to come back. This never failed and Achmed and Simoine were there in a minute to bring us back to the lovely Dar Seven. W loved this little read for all the reason listed above, but cannot say enough good thing about Achmed and Siomoine. They are truely a huge asset to the hotel. We hope to be back soon.
Dar seven it’s a beautiful riad with the best taste and decoration! The service it’s amazing Ahmed and Simon were really nice and helpful, they gave us a phone so we can call them all the time. Highly recommended
We loved our stay at Dar Seven. The staff especially Ahmed and Simon made us extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble. They looked after us very well and even came and found us when we got lost! They were very helpful in recommending nice places to visit and eat. The house is delightful, beautifully decorated and a lovely roof terrace to enjoy the sunshine. We had a delicious and very spoiling birthday supper and massage at the Riad. A perfect retreat from which to enjoy exploring Marrakech. Highly recommend a stay here!
As I write this I am about to spend my 4th glorious day at Dar Seven. I'm currently lying in a beautifully appointed bed in the White Room. I am looking out onto a magnificently renovated courtyard where the amazing staff is scurrying around to make the daily breakfast of Moroccan delicacies. If you are looking for glitz and glamour this is not the road for you. This is all about understated elegance and nuanced perfection. I've never felt so well taken care of by a staff of wonderful people. Coming home each evening is indeed just that......coming 'home'. My husband and I will be coming back in the future as the highlight of our vacation. Don't forget to ask for a private dinner prepared here and served in front of a roaring fire......FANTASTIC ! We have appropriately nicked named this raid Nirvana. It doesn't get any better than this!
