How to Get There
Fantastic stay. The property is so charming, with so many cozy seating areas and fire places to relax by and the rooftop is beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the hot water bottle tucked in bed at night was a wonderful touch in chilly February.
This is a very beautiful Riad but the food was bland and mostly very westernised which was disappointing. The starter was a quiche which tasted like cheap pizza, the pudding was a poor crumble and the tagine was mostly bones and not very tasty.
Very nice people, cozy and elegantly decorated rooms. It seems that you are in a noble family's mediavel residence. Essaouira is a surprise after a long trip around Marocco, has a human's scale, fresh and by a beautiful cove, with its port and big stone walls
Villa Maroc was the perfect end to our trip. After 10 days in Morocco, we spent the last night at Villa Maroc. It's well-situated next to the main square just inside the Medina walls, with easy access to parking. We had a spacious suite with a bedroom, sitting room and separate bathing room (shower and bathtub) and a view of the ocean. The hotel was beautiful, neat and well-appointed, but the best part was the staff and service. It was my wife's birthday and they arranged for flowers in the room, restaurant reservation at the last minute (and told them her birthday without prompting), a session in the hammam, a hot water bottle to keep us warm at night, and generally went out of their way to accommodate. There was a great rooftop terrace for breakfast overlooking the water. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Essaouira.
We had 2 wonderful nights here. The location is perfect near the sea and there are views from the rooftop bar/dining area. We had the most wonderful breakfast here and a G&T at the end of the day. Just an easy walk to the old port and through into the winding streets of the nearby markets. We had dinner in one night and I wish we had the same the second. The room service is EXCELLENT (!) and the front desk is very very good also. Our room was very nice although there were lots of steps (you might need to negotiate a more accessible room if this is a problem for you). Highly recommended.
