How to Get There
Had a lovely weekend stay here. The staff was very friendly, pretty laid back and attentive to our needs. The hotel sits on the frontage road, immediately adjacent to highway 101 south, but the rooms all face the beautiful Richardson’s bay. It was pretty cold during our stay so we kept the slider to the little balcony closed and did not hear the freeway at all. The room was large and very clean with a small sitting room when you enter. The view was wonderful and we caught views of many birds visiting the bay. Wine, cheese, crackers and a little fruit were offered at 5:00 each day. A nice little spread that took the edge off afternoon hunger. Fresh baked cookies come out at 7:00 and if that’s not enough food, they have a very nice breakfast buffet in the morning. The buffet was one of the better free breakfasts I’ve had in a hotel and I’ve had many. Not much within walking distance, although we did make the trek into Mill Valley, but that was a 3-mile walk, all flat though. The hotel’s not new so the shine has worn off here and there, but nothing serious. Depending on traffic, the hotel’s 20 minutes to an hour from the city and as mentioned, freeway close.
At first glance, I thought that this would be a very pleasant experience, but have to say that I was very disappointed, especially given how much my room was per night. I was supposed to have a view; my room was on the ground level with a great view of a tree and the benches that overlook the bay. The floor was wood flooring, which was always cold and the heater didn't work properly so my room was always cold. There is a coffee bar in the lobby, but no coffee makers in the room, which extremely inconvenient. The room was very clean and every single person on staff was friendly, helpful and always smiling. I did like their wine and cheese hour in the evening, but for $300/night, I could've stayed somewhere else, been warm AND had a coffee maker in my room. Very pretty place, but just not worth it to me.
We spent two nights at the Aqua Hotel over the Christmas holidays. We were able to have our dog with us as this wonderful hotel allows pets. Our room had everything we have at home including a wonderful bed. Every morning we started with a full breakfast that was delicious. Give Aqua a try, relax and enjoy!
This is a wonderful cozy hotel with amazing staff and a modern look. Has a convenient location in southern Marin county close to the City. When you get back in the evening there is wine and cheese tasting as well as freshly baked cookies. 24 h hot teas and coffee of exceptional quality. Breakfast buffet is overwhelming - I only wish they started serving earlier than 7 am.
We stayed over because we were attending a concert at the Throckmorton theatre in Mill Valley. The room was spacious and very clean and the complimentary breakfast was so yummy! Would definitely recommend and/or stay again.
