How to Get There
We chose the Urbino Resort as a way station to break up a long journey by car from Verona to Amalfi because it was outside of the town and had free parking. Wow were we delighted to find it so much more than we could ever have hoped for or imagined. In fact, this property is only the second in the world to earn the coveted "Gringo Perdido Perfect Score" with one caveat. The location, set among the hills of le Marche, is stunning. The perfectly manicured grounds and charmingly restored buildings create a welcoming oasis. The rooms are furnished in a somewhat rustic but elegant style befitting the rural location, and equipped with a comfy bed and first-rate amenities. The management and staff are charming, helpful and highly professional. The restaurant is fabulous with delicious food and wine grown on the estate, and impeccable service. The breakfast buffet, served in the chapel building is fulsome and fresh. The only caveat....access to the gorgeous swimming pool is strictly and, in my view ridiculously, limited. After a long, hot drive the last thing one wants to be told is that the pool closes at 17:30 (18:00 in the room info) and doesn't open until 10:00 am too late to be used before setting off. A small spoiler in an otherwise perfect stay. Do yourself a favor and allow at least two nights in this wonderful rural retreat. We will certainly return for a longer stay next time we're in Italy.
Nicely laid out property with good quality building refurbishment and excellent facilities.
Staff helpful and friendly. Calm and peaceful location.Fairly easy access to the town of Urbino.
Lakeside restaurant was a delight.
This location is very nice located. Most if not all of the rooms have airconditioning and were clean. The restaurant we ate dinner at is either a short drive, 2 mins, or a 10 mins walk away. It’s on the estate though.
Restaurant has friendly staff and great food. See TripAdvisor for that review.
Accommodation and facilities spread out over a wine estate. Accommodation of a high standard lovely gardens and pool as well as fabulous wine from the estate. The restaurant is in a stunning location on a lake, food of a high standard. You should be prepared to walk a little since the facilities are quite spread out or drive.
The location is good for Urbino and easy to park on that side of the town. Watch google it tries to take you at first on an estate road that is not open
What an espectacular place to stay if you’re looking to disconnect and relax. The location is beautiful, the place itself if beautiful, plenty of green area serenity to read a book quietly if you’re not traveling with children. I stayed here for two night with my wife and 2 boys 4&6 years old. They were super happy to run in the green areas and play in the pool, I was completely worry free since there’s no traffic and it’s gated. Also happy to see them being kids and being off tv and electronics. The villa we stayed in was very clean, and comfortable. The bathroom shower was an actual good size, which you might think it’s funny but from my experience of traveling through Italy I’ve seen some really interesting and tiny showers. The breakfast they offered was great, plenty of variety of delicious goodies that you will probably have to worry about after your vacation. They did offer lunch, but we decided to eat in our room since we did have a kitchen with all of the supplies we needed to eat in. They also have a small store in which we got the food we cooked, which was pretty cool since we didn’t have to leave the property to get anything we needed. We did have dinner in their restaurant and the food was great, and actually served fast which is important when traveling with children. The service was amazing, all of their staff was very helpful and pleasant. Definitely recommend it, and definitely plan to be back.
