- Inspired combination of sophistication and informality, original features and contemporary luxury
- The spectacular setting, from acres of landscaped gardens to verdant mountains
- Award-winning El Olivo is one of Mallorca’s best restaurants with top-notch food and an extensive wine list
- Deià’s quaint cobbled streets have lost none of the charm that’s attracted artists and writers for centuries
- The range of activities on offer from sports – tennis, sailing, cycling – to more artistic pursuits
- Daily free boat excursions come summertime
What To Know
- Ideal for couples or solos looking for a secluded break
- Children 12 and under are permitted at no additional cost when sharing a Double Superior or higher category room with their parents (meals will be charged as taken) — there's also a great Kids Club
- Deià has some excellent restaurants and local bars but don’t expect late-night lounge bars or clubs
- It may be a haunt of rock stars, royalty and Hollywood A-listers but it’s low key here, and you won’t find any paparazzi hanging around
- Deià’s not on the beach but a pretty private cove is a shuttle bus away and it makes an excellent base for exploring the island

How to Get There
The grounds and public areas of this hotel are superb, including the pool area, and many of the staff are very good, and friendly. Deia as a place is lovely as well.
We were so disappointed with our room; in writing it stated that we would have a view, but our room (described as Superior Double) was more like a cave it was so dark, and facing the stone wall of a small enclosed patio. We also had to put up with noisy delivery trucks and glass smashing as we were near the rear of the kitchen.
On one occasion early in our stay we were offered port at the end of our meal in such a way that we felt it was complimentary (the waiter hovered over us and almost started pouring before asking if we wanted it!), so were shocked to find a charge of over €35 on our bill – the waiter commented that he didn’t realise we were hotel guests, as if that should make any difference! We still had to pay! This was in Café Miro restaurant, we never went again – El Olivo was much better with very friendly staff.
On our last day we had lunch instead of evening meal (as on half board) and trying to be helpful, asked for just one salad which were happy to share. We were told this was “impossible”, in a very abrupt way; so we had two salads, which was just a waste of food! It eventually became clear that the Head Waiter thought that we were being cheap and trying to save money!
For the price we paid (about €1000 per day), we felt really cheated so do take care not to get the room with no view!
Incredibly beautiful property where anything you want or need is at your fingertips. The property has class, personality and is super luxurious. We didn't get to experience the two outdoor pools because it rained when we were there, but they looked great and the indoor pool was spectacular. Great sauna, steam room, and outdoor hot tub, too. The suite we had was incredible with huge windows and lots of privacy, even while the hotel is quite big. The breakfast buffet and a la carte were elaborate. The views up in the Deia mountains were second to none. Even though it rained for days, we had an excellent time - recommend this property any time of year.
Only negatives, the drinks at the bar don't have to be quite so expensive. One day we were going to a restaurant and it was pouring rain, I asked the front desk if there was parking at this restaurant (they had kindly made the reservation for me) and they said yes - they failed to mention there was no indoor seating at the restaurant during this HUGE all day storm and parking was a bit of a hike from the restaurant. We were okay (although soaking wet by the end of it) and had an adventure, but at that level of price / service, I just can't imagine if that had happened to my parents. Spa treatments focus more on perks like what music you listen to and the scents of the oils than the massage itself.
It's difficult to know where to start when trying to describe the most perfect of days! We held our wedding reception at La Residencia after getting married at the stunning Church perched on the top of the hill in Deia. Planning a wedding is no easy task but with the help of our incredible wedding planner Laura from Events By L (who we would highly recommend) and Delphine at La Residencia everything went exactly to plan and our dream day was made into reality. From welcome cocktails on the lawn to the 4 course meal at El Olivio the service and attention to detail was without doubt second to none. Many of 75 guest commented that it was genuinely one of the best meals they had ever tasted. I will let the pictures do the talking from here however, if you are considering a wedding in Deia I can assure you that a combination of Laura at Events By L and La Residencia will guarantee you and your guest the most incredible wedding in a simply breathtaking location.
Spend two nights there during a vacation trip to Mallorca. The hotel is located on a hillside in a quaint village of Deia. Got a lovely, spacious room with one minor drawback, it was overlooking the hotel entrance/driveway so occasionally it got a bit noisy especially with windows open. Other than that the grounds are short of spectacular and service is excellent. Open air live classical music concert one evening added to the overall pleasant atmosphere in the place. Convenient base for short trips in the neighbourhood the the likes of Valdemossa or Puerto Soller.
La Residencia is one of those places that a review cannot do justice to. You have to be there to experience the cloud-covered mountains on one side, and the pristine waters on the other, while you sip your favourite cocktail in your private pool. Never have been to a more perfect resort than this. Can't wait to go back in the summers!
