Simply Stunning Wedding & Stay!
Reviewed 24 hours ago

We just had our beautiful wedding at the Belmond La Residencia in mid-April and it was absolute perfection. Everything was pure luxury from start to finish - heaven on earth!!

We first need to thank Delphine who exceeded our expectations beyond words. We communicated with her for over 6 months planning every little detail of the wedding. She is professional, quick to respond, sweet, detail-oriented and all around amazing! The staff and service was out of this world (Ulisses, Toni and everyone working at the hotel) and the rooms were perfectly clean at all times. The food and drinks were some of the best we've had, especially the whiskey sours (our guests are still raving about them). The grounds were absolutely stunning with peaceful views overlooking the Mediterranean and the mountains. Our guests were beyond happy to have come to such an amazing and magical place.

We highly recommend staying at Belmond La Residencia. If you are planning a wedding, this is a true fairy tale place.

Just so happy! We will for sure be back.

You have read the superlatives ...It's the people who count

I am not repeating all the superlative about La Residencia... what counts are the many many people who make your stay a successWhat is clear is this is a team at work with great leadership & high standards.
Specifically, my wife is a vegan & there was little on the menu for her to eat so Tony (head of food & beverage) asked to meet us with Guillaume (Head chef) to discuss vegan menus. With no fuss and a lot of caring ,vegan dinners were delivered which were sublime. Thank you for your attention and wonderful artistry.
Others who stood out were Gemma in the Spa who was fantastic in getting me to start paying attention to personal welfare after much flying and also Irene in Mira who had a ready smile and laugh while delivering quality service. Frankly it is unfair because everyone was absolutely fantastic.
Do not forget to book some of the excursions. We went on the First Light walk which was spectacular (thank you Eduard) and also on the Tramamunta Mountain trek to the top of the mountain behind Deia (thank you Aina).
Suffice to say you will not be disappointed.

Such a Dissapointment

The grounds and public areas of this hotel are superb, including the pool area, and many of the staff are very good, and friendly. Deia as a place is lovely as well.
We were so disappointed with our room; in writing it stated that we would have a view, but our room (described as Superior Double) was more like a cave it was so dark, and facing the stone wall of a small enclosed patio. We also had to put up with noisy delivery trucks and glass smashing as we were near the rear of the kitchen.
On one occasion early in our stay we were offered port at the end of our meal in such a way that we felt it was complimentary (the waiter hovered over us and almost started pouring before asking if we wanted it!), so were shocked to find a charge of over €35 on our bill – the waiter commented that he didn’t realise we were hotel guests, as if that should make any difference! We still had to pay! This was in Café Miro restaurant, we never went again – El Olivo was much better with very friendly staff.
On our last day we had lunch instead of evening meal (as on half board) and trying to be helpful, asked for just one salad which were happy to share. We were told this was “impossible”, in a very abrupt way; so we had two salads, which was just a waste of food! It eventually became clear that the Head Waiter thought that we were being cheap and trying to save money!

For the price we paid (about €1000 per day), we felt really cheated so do take care not to get the room with no view!

Ultimate Luxury

Incredibly beautiful property where anything you want or need is at your fingertips. The property has class, personality and is super luxurious. We didn't get to experience the two outdoor pools because it rained when we were there, but they looked great and the indoor pool was spectacular. Great sauna, steam room, and outdoor hot tub, too. The suite we had was incredible with huge windows and lots of privacy, even while the hotel is quite big. The breakfast buffet and a la carte were elaborate. The views up in the Deia mountains were second to none. Even though it rained for days, we had an excellent time - recommend this property any time of year.

Only negatives, the drinks at the bar don't have to be quite so expensive. One day we were going to a restaurant and it was pouring rain, I asked the front desk if there was parking at this restaurant (they had kindly made the reservation for me) and they said yes - they failed to mention there was no indoor seating at the restaurant during this HUGE all day storm and parking was a bit of a hike from the restaurant. We were okay (although soaking wet by the end of it) and had an adventure, but at that level of price / service, I just can't imagine if that had happened to my parents. Spa treatments focus more on perks like what music you listen to and the scents of the oils than the massage itself.
