Belmond La Residencia
What We Love
- Buffet breakfast is included in the Jetsetter rate
- Inspired combination of sophistication and informality, original features and contemporary luxury
- The spectacular setting, from acres of landscaped gardens to verdant mountains
- Award-winning El Olivo is one of Mallorca’s best restaurants with top-notch food and an extensive wine list
- Deià’s quaint cobbled streets have lost none of the charm that’s attracted artists and writers for centuries
- The range of activities on offer from sports – tennis, sailing, cycling – to more artistic pursuits
- Daily free boat excursions come summertime
What To Know
- Ideal for couples or solos looking for a secluded break
- Children 12 and under are permitted at no additional cost when sharing a Double Superior or higher category room with their parents (meals will be charged as taken) — there's also a great Kids Club
- Deià has some excellent restaurants and local bars but don’t expect late-night lounge bars or clubs
- It may be a haunt of rock stars, royalty and Hollywood A-listers but it’s low key here, and you won’t find any paparazzi hanging around
- Deià’s not on the beach but a pretty private cove is a shuttle bus away and it makes an excellent base for exploring the island
- Free WiFi
- Parking On Site

How to Get There
Where do you go after exploring Morocco, from Marrakech, Ouarzazate and to the desert’s of Merzouga and back?
Here. The tranquil north coast of Mallorca.
We want to thank all the staff that helped us during our stay (July 2-4, three rooms, family of six from Mexico).
It is easy to do nothing here, but we highly recommend working with the reception staff to do something every day. They have a terrific list of activities.
Our recommendation: Start your day with the First Light Walk with Eduard from MallorcAlpina.com at 6:00am. The views and company are special.
You have enough time to return and join the complimentary Boat Excursion at 9:30am. Swimming in a cove was a personal trip highlight for some of our kids — which is strange since they had just come from the Sahara desert where they rode a camel and slept under the stars.
Dinner at Cafe Miro or El Olivo at night is the perfect way to end your day. Both are exceptional.
With advanced time during your stay, try booking the Donkey Trail. At a minimum, speak with the reception to do a meet & greet with the five donkeys in their holding pen near the jacuzzi.
We’ve traveled the world together as a family, but it’s never been about the distance we’ve covered. It’s stopping and looking along the way. This is a perfect place to do that.
It’s all been said before – many times!
Stunning location (Deia is very nice), beautiful grounds, every facility you can imagine, nice artwork, and surprisingly peaceful and calm.
Staff are welcoming and efficient, without being intrusive.
Both main restaurants are excellent – and good live music and cocktails beforehand!
The room we had was superb and with fantastic views.
Two excellent pools and spa facilities as well!
Located in the charming village of Deia, La Residencia delivers on everything the Belmond brand represents: Stunning picturesque and expertly maintained grounds, beautifully decorated and maintained rooms, and excellent service. We enjoyed a junior suite in the main building, built in 1842. Our charming room had wood beamed ceilings, and lovely antique furnishings (--the only negative is the bathroom was on the smaller side). Our view was to the front terrace, which offers beautifully maintained seating areas on a grassy area, surrounded by flowers. Service and breakfast offerings were excellent, and we also enjoyed two dinners at Miro (--we ate one lunch at the pool restaurant, which offered good food, but could benefit from expanded options). Reviewers have commented upon Miro's prices. They are higher than comparable restaurants in Deia, but the differential is not great. The hotel provides a list of off-property dining options (our favorites were Sebastian's, Nama, and Ca's Patro March; make reservations in advance). They provide transfers to/from Cala Deia where Ca's Patro March and their closest "beach" are located. The "beach" is not a sandy beach; it has large rocks, so bring water shoes if you plan to swim, plus a towel and water, as the hotel does not service this "beach." The hotel offers boat trips which include a swim/snorkel opportunity in a lovely bay; it was a worthwhile excursion. La Residencia offers a quiet, relaxing, place to disconnect in tranquil beauty.
Well, it has all been said before and, yes, it is all true! La Residencia is beautiful property set in the gorgeous village of Deia. It is very peaceful and vast so you can wander around undisturbed! Our room was very comfortable with plenty of wardrobe space, a TV (which we never watched!), bedroom and sitting room areas, a pleasant patio and a nice bathroom though without a bath. We could hardly complain as we were kindly upgraded from a Deluxe Double room to a Junior Suite! Plenty of space around the swimming pools, great breakfasts and stunning view from the terrace for aperitifs before dinner. They do food well too at La Residencia though a little on the expensive side when compared to local restaurants of similar standards (e.g. Sebastian, Es Racó d'es Teix) but we enjoyed our meals at both very much. Same for Lunches by the pool which were just about ok for me, but my partner loved them, so what do I know! The best bit, of course, is the excellent staff (as well as a very professional management team), always very pleasant and keen to provide the best care and service at all times. It would be difficult to mention any specifically as they were all so good and professional. It is really a dream destination and we very much hope to return as we did not manage to 2/3rd of our planned excursions during our week there. Simply just too tempting and easy to stay around the property and relax!
You cannot find a better hotel for a short or long stay . If beautiful surroundings , fabulous food, friendly service is important to you - stay - you will not be disappointed . The hotel and rooms are better than the pictures and the ambience is perfect , so relaxed , but ‘uber’ stylish and I’m fussy !!
