How to Get There
We cycled here as part of a self guided tour through Pure Adventures. Great spot to end a ride. Most rooms have a view. Pool is beautifully situated to appreciate both the view and pool. Restaurant and terrace also stunning views. Food was great.
We loved our stay at Monnaber Nou, the location is truly stunning at the foot of the Tramuntana mountain range. It is an exceptionally beautiful and relaxing spot.
We stayed in April and the spa helped to warm us up when the weather wasn't on our side. For a small hotel, it was very well equipped. It is meant to be for over 16s but there were a few children in the pool, we didn't really mind but I got the impression that others weren't too happy about it. My guess is, that due to the stormy weather, the parents were just trying to find something to do for their children, perhaps in the winter and spring months something like "family time" could be factored into the pool schedule.
Our room was an excellent size and I liked the old charm decor. There are a few updates that really need to be considered though. The shower above the bath needed updating, the lock on the door was exceptionally temperamental and a new mattress would not be a bad idea. Since this wouldn't involve redecoration, there is something to be said for considering updates that need not cost an exorbitant amount.
We had a meal in the restaurant but I am afraid that we weren't all that impressed. It is overpriced for what it is and my fellow diner's lamb was hugely overcooked a la school dinners (she had ordered from the day's special menu where I think it must all be made in bulk). I am a vegetarian and so didn't go for the set menu so generally had a better meal. Dessert however was fantastic.
Breakfast conversely was wonderful. A fantastic spread of continental breakfast classics to cater to a largely german clientele, lovely local pastries and cheeses and plenty of drink options. The star of the show though was the local bread with Monnaber Nou's home grown olive oil. It was so delicious that we bought some to take home.
The staff were absolutely excellent during our stay, they were friendly and welcoming and really could not do enough for you.
Would we stay again? We absolutely would. Despite the niggles here and there, we had a fantastic time and came away suitably refreshed.
Fabulous setting and brilliant food. Modern take on traditional Mallorca dishes with great ingredients. Meat dishes are fantastic. Well worth the price. The views from the terraces are fantastic and service is good.
This was our 3rd visit to the hotel; we last visited in 2010 and 2011.
We booked a short weekend break and the hotel was fantastic!
Lovely rooms polite helpful and attentive staff in beautiful surroundings.
Breakfast is lovely with plenty of fresh fruit, cheeses hams croissants and hot food if you want it.
Dinner is fantastic and ours was included in the stay and was excellent value. Wines are reasonably priced and very good.
We definitely be back and are very pleased that the standard was as good as it had been previously.
A big thanks to staff and management- we will return!!
Our Danish family of two adults and two sr teenagers enjoyed fully our stay at Monnaber Nou. Staff were kind and helpful. Food was excellent and high class. Facilities were great especially the pool and tennis courts. The surroundings were very nice and quiet, just what we needed for our Easter break going hiking on Mallorca. We would like to come again some time.
